If she is going to drive it year round I would personally want the AWD for my GF. S4 or the Evo. And the new Evo def doesn’t have the ricer stigma as the older ones do.

My buddy has an 08. It seems to get pretty good mileage from what I’ve seen. I drove it from San Antonio to Houston and ended up getting about 26 mpg at like 70ish mph. His is only the 5 speed GSR so thats pretty decent in my eyes.
For a daily, there are probably better choices. For one, the recaro’s in the evo just simply aren’t very comfortable. Long drives in the car will probably hurt your ass.
Interior is decent but nothing to write home about. I’m not going to lie though, if it was out for a new car, I’d definitely consider one. Once you hit boost, the car is a riot.
He’s got about 12,000 on it with a tune and it’s been great in terms of reliability.
I love my 08. It drives waaaay better than my 05. The suspension is softer but, the car handles better. I have the car lowered on eibach’s and it still feels very good. My gas mileage stock sucked. Now that I have an exhaust it has gotten better. I get about 20mpg in mixed driving. If she wants one now is the time to get one with the zero percent financing.
P.S. The recaro’s are awesome. They are much better than older recaro’s. Great lumbar support.

07 335XI sedan. You will have it much longer and enjoy it much more along the way… plus with a flash/piggyback it will be close to your m3 
You may see some good financing on 07 soon with 2 year leases coming back in over the next few months. Currently 3.9% on 07’s

07 did come in XI and manual. There are a couple on the bmw cpo model search.
There was no 335 XI coupe but there was a sedan in 2007.

Is there a g37x coupe or just sedan? I think that would be your best bet from a price and maintenance standpoint.
