08' Xterra O2 sensor locations?

Can anyone tell me the O2 sensor locations on an 08’ Xterra?

Long story short, my mother recently purchased an 08’ Xterra. She had codes come up regarding emissions, more specifically the O2 sensor. Nissan dealer is claiming it is located inside the driver side rear bumper. I find this very hard to believe, but having not looked myself I cannot confirm or deny that claim. She lives too far away for me to travel to/from in a day to take a look, so I was hoping someone could help me out with some info on this.

Thanks in advance.

If it’s an 08 throwing a code I hope you are just asking this for curiosity and aren’t about to start messing with your mom’s warranty.

The exhaust comes down the passenger side anyway. The fuel door is on the driver’s side. Maybe her gas cap is loose?

02 sensor would be placed before and after the catalytic converter(s), it is not in the rear bumper.

Given that it sounds like it went from tech->reception girl->eazy’s Mom->eazy->nyspeed, I’m still guessing gas cap. “It’s above the driver’s side rear bumper.”

:word:

so why isnt the dealership taking care of this?

That i would assume should be covered under 8/80,000 emissions waranty

you’re so nerdy

Says the pot to the kettle LOL

actually i brought that up because i just had a discussion with a shop about 8/80 fed emissions waranty. They had a customer in with an 07 buick with a NEW cat on it that the dealer had just charged for, and we got into a whole thing about how the dealers forget to mention that some things are covered and charge for them

I’ve told many people to take them back. They argue with me. I say call up then because why would i try to refuse doing the easiest $700 job of my life?

my mother has a tendency to leave out intrical parts of the story. I talked to my father, and there was alot of information she conveniently left out. Turned out to be a canister related to the emissions system inside the rear bumper that was fouled. The technical name escapes me at the moment.

Charcoal? It still should be covered so I do not see why you are posting

to figure out wtf she was talking about. but thanks for the useful post!

No you’re not allowed to want to learn about something that you don’t actually have to fix. Curiosity killed the cat. Do you really want to share that mofawkin cat’s fate?

purge control solenoid. Fucking useless as to how the car will run but a need to pass NYS inspection.

Hydro Carbons are a pretty big problem. I wouldnt call it useless

seems like they are referring to the entire EVAP canister. Not simply a valve or solenoid. Common on Toyota.
