i buys your stuffz with canadian dollurz
iu went there last weekend and exchanged 80$ american and got back $80.80 canadian ahha
i guess the jokes on us eh? Its sad that a few years back i could go there buy all my hockey gear an still feel like i made some great deals. Now I’ve got really no reason to go up there to take advantage of the exchange rate, the only thing they have goin for them is development something Niagara falls on the american side will more then likey never have.
Bing with the taxes you have up there does is still work in your benefit to buy here and then take it home with you?
This is probably very good for Buffalo. You’ll have a lot more Canadians coming over (if you haven’t already noticed the trend) to buy stuff then before.

If you are an exporter, or do business overseas, then yay for you.
In about a year, interest rates should drop close to like they did the last time they wre down around 5%. Better buy that real estate when it happens.
If you go to the Canadian Ballet to get more dance for your dollar, GLOOM AND DOOOM!!! :mamoru:
I won’t hold my breath on the “Canadians will come to Buffalo to buy more stuff” theory. I’ve been to Toronto, they have the same or better than anything in Buffalo.
How’s that Jay?
This is putting a damper on my plans for going to Whistler in the winter.
Weak US dollar + high prices of ANYTHING in Canada = Steve can just bend over for his trip to Canada.

Take a drive over to the Galleria and tell me Canadians are not coming here to shop. Look at the license plates.

Everything is 20 - 40% cheaper, just on sticker price, in the US as opposed to Canada.
red bull it $1.79 in the Us at K-mart last time i was in there, the price for red bull is fixed at $2.99 in Canada per can.
that is a 67% price difference, then factor in that you guys have half the taxes.
I have made it a habit for years of not buying any clothing, car-parts, jewellery etc. in Canada.
i bought my wife’s engagement ring in the states and saved around $2,500 + as opposed to buying the same ring in Canada.
i really want to buy a decent winter car in the western NY area this year and try my hand and importing / driving US vehicles with my canadian license.

Well then on that note, I stand corrected. Maybe Buffalo should huryy up with those Peace Bridge plans so more Canadians can come over 6 lanes at a time instead of 2 or 1.

I hear that, last time I went to Whistler(heli-skiing:eekdance:) the US dollar was aboot $1.49 in Canada.
Even then Whistler was $$$$$$.
I would definately go back though.

True. There was a story on CBC or CTV yesterday talking about how Canadian businesses are actually hurting because US citizens aren’t coming over for the strong exchange rate and Canadians are coming here to shop as well.
Nope, the Canadians aren’t coming here to shop at all.

Now all we have to do is not vote in Keane as Erie County Executive and maybe the county can actually do something smart with all that extra sales tax revenue.
I just got a canadian quarter from the bank.
Should I be happy instead of mad?
Will vending machines now take Canadian money?
These are just a few concurrent and timely questions I have.
