101mm caddy

I guess anything really is possible lol

that seems REALLY laggy

You may have not heard the owner in the video but he says it takes a while to spool up.

Launch reminds of a local Nova vid.

Damn, it takes a good 4 seconds before he’s seeing that power and then he just looses traction. It’s cool but seems unusable.

I was thinking the exact same thing, lol.

your exactly right, its almost like the 101mm is more for show and telling your friends you have a 101mm turbo

I like to see the same car with a single 88mm or twins

He’s says in video he was twins before , I’ll try and find info on it.

Looks like he was running twin 35r’s

I’m lost as to why this is better than a pair of 35r turbos except for maybe show reasons?

this.

You guys do understand that if you launch a turbo auto car in boost and hook it will stay in boost right? My car will launch harder when I feel like it and so would his if/when he feels like(real tire setup)
@theblue I guess it depends on what he is trying to accomplish. Big singles were the craze for a bit in ls stuff and now twins seem to be going real damn quick too. I suppose personal preference but I do not subscribe to the through that twins always spool faster. Yes its a smaller turbo typically in twin setups but you then have less air volume to each turbo. User preference and goals of the car. This guy wanted a 101 I guess. I would have used a smaller one if I was only going for 1200hp but who knows what the guys end game is.

Turbo alone probably weighs 100lbs, lol.

I’m saying I think that the 101mm specifically seems to trade off too many benefits from vids of his twin setup for the higher power. The car seems totally useless for anything other than a half mile drag where he has the time to build boost and reel in the finish line. I agree where you said you’d have gone smaller that 101mm for a single setup…that would probably suit the car better…I guess unless all he wants to do is 1/2 mile and standing mile type driving with it…

Because no one gives a shit about you on the internet if you have two 62mm turbos. 101 and this has been posted everywhere

Exactly! if it didn’t have a 101mm turbo it would just be another boosted CTSV

After some more reading it seems he is running it on a piggy back set up using e67 Ecu so he is extremely limited as to what the car can actually dish out. He even explains in a post about how limited he is and is working on going standalone. He pretty much slapped the tuning side together to make this event.

Needs BigStuff3 or Holley EFI and a nice co2 boost management setup. I bet this thing can make 1000ftlbs by 4500rpm once sorted. Does it say how many cubes? End goals? Link to a build?

Check the link I posted, its his threads started on LS1Tech.

I believe it was a 408. And I will second Cougarspeed, with an auto and an at least somewhat matched combo, you can throw “lag” and “spool” etc right out the window. I’m personally shopping between a 94mm and twin 67mm, and lag isn’t even in the decision making process…
