11-14 PRP last chance!

congrats joe and justin

good times guys…damn everyone is gettin soo fast.

aint they running weather perminting till the end of november!

Yes ^^^^ thats what they said at the track sat.

I went 9.86 at about 141 rounded up.

Just got back from MIR. First pass no changes from saturday went 9.86 at 139 again…it was hot down there but i got a good launch.

Told me to slow down cuz it aint legal for 9’s. Next pass i did 10.09 at 115 on the brakes hard before the tape. Probly another 9.90’s pass, didnt leave as hard the heat killed the car.

Last pass 4 hours later in the cold air, i added some 110 octane, cranked the boost to what I thought would be 17-18, added some timing, took some fuel out the tables and posted a best of 1.49 60 foot, but vacuum line off the intake blew off on the 1-2 shift and i was only hitting 16.6 psi on my logs running PIG rig at 10 to 1.

Car fell on its face abit, but still ran a 9.73 at 142. Lean that out, get that boost back from the leak, add shit more timing and I have 9.5’s easy without too much effort, possibly abit more. Needs tuned up.
I think it would hold 16lbs on pump in cold air anyway, should have tried that instead of messing with racegas.

congrats on 9.70s

congrats on the new PB

just curious how much does that car weigh

AWSOME Justin,Congrats!

Thanks, i’d put it at about 3550 with me in it, just a guess tho. Was just under 3450 with me in it last year but now I added turbos/piping/intercooler/TH400 but subtracted some weight with fiberglass hood

I have a strong feeling this car would have gone 9.5’s if that racegas tune was set right and the vacuum lines wouldnt have disconnected.

But i’m not allowed back at MIR until i get a full cage and stuff

Congrats!

damn justin. congrats!

with how well your car is performing it makes me question if i should add the extra points to the roll bar now. 3550 with you in it is pretty good on weight. Id like to see 3800 with my ass in the car. maybe ill scrap my t56 idea and go straight for the Th400

congrats again

Your power plant got to be making as much power as me if not more. I aint even have a great tune in the car…i never tried timing and i have no idea where i’m shifting, i just go down the track. Need a dyno to see where my peak hp is and shift there. Your car is gonna haul some ass
That car really gonna be that heavy? Still has 9’s in it tho if you launch good with the stick. Might as well get the 10pt cage  Not sure if I ever will. Too much extra crap to run 9’s for a street car

congrats on the times!

you figure a LS1 vert is heavy to start and ill be iron block with turbo setup. the manifold and turbo on silverado netted me about 60lbs right there then all tubing, Steel bellhousing, roll bar. im trying to shed as much weight as possible without compromising luxury. I got lightweight hood, fiberglass fenders, gutted nose, gutting wiring harness and etc but the hydraulics for the top weigh good bit.

With a good shortblock i know ill have plenty of power to go where i want to end up but would deffently need auto then. The 4.8 just doesnt have the usable torque for the ET im guessing so ill need topend HP to get the mph atleast. Just with your’s and talins so simple with the auto.

the added bars to be legal is a toss up to do. with 9s you need a license plus certified cage but it becomes a kick in the nutts not beign legal for the times the cars can run. Hell your combo isnt even cranked up yet. you get to about 20-22 psi and you should be into the 8s with around 150-153 mph

haha 8’s yeah right…thats crazy fast!! I’m not sure the turbos are big enough

I forgot about the vert stuff. Definately adds weight. Th400 with full manual would be nice but if you cruise the car its gonna suck on the street. 80E would be the choice for your setup i’d say

80e adds weight plus more money its option for silverado. 80e is very tight on a 4th gen with the tunnel.

Dude dont kid yourself about not being able to go 8s. its seems to be around 850-900 rwhp with a light vehicle to run those digits. You have the motor but you might be right with to small of turbos but id like to see ya try.

i would do an 80e f0r sure,aint much m0re than a th400,u dr0p the ac + 0ther thing,it c0uld be cl0se 0n the weight!

are you suggesting 80e?

Reason i suggest 80E is your 4.8 wants to rev 7500… i shift my car at 5500-6000, recently its been 5500. I can get away with 2.73 gears and 26" tire. For the street it drives nice this way. But for you, you will need alot of gear to get that rpms up that high. cruising on that in a 3spd and 26" street tires is gonna suck ass

keep the 6spd or go 80E
