Penske Porsche Spider in LMP2 qualified third overall, 1st in class. Andretti Green Racing Acura was 4th overall, 2nd in LMP2.
GT2 top qualifier is the Risi Competione F430. Both Risi cars qualified one-two in class.
Any predictions on the winners?
I’m guessing P1 class will be Audi going one - two unless an act of God occurs. Same with the Corvettes in GT1, who only have a lone privateer Aston Martin to contend with.
The big battles wil be in LMP2 and GT2. Porsche seems to be the ones to beat, but Acura is right there with them. It will be a tough call, but you would think Porsche would win due to experience.
GT2 is a crapshoot, not touching those predictions.
The privateer Astons dont stand a chance. I’ve been saying it for awhile, I wanna see the factory team back, an M6 GT1 car, and a new 599 GTC. Would make GT1 really interesting.
GT2 will not be a battle, Ferrari will win it. There is ZERO data available to teams on the RSR right now, as it’s completely different from the Cup car. Very few shared components. I suspect a Ferrari 1-2 with RSR’s squeeking in 3-5 over the other F430’s.
Of course, the new more reliable, more powerful R10 is going to win overall. I wouldnt be surprised to see Dyson-Porsche overtake everyone in P2 however.

While I respect it, it’s just not my thing.I watch it every once in awhile but I can’t really get into it. It is however infinitively better than reruns of nascar.
I had a chance to go to it this year. My friends have condos in Sebring and they just got there today. I had a business trip for work and couldn’t get good airfare

Still alot of time left though. Im glad that Acura is doing well although it will be of an acomplishment when they make their own chassis and motor combo.
Good Job audi and wow good job acura. Does anyone know if they plan on running the 24hr of lemans? If so it is going to be a big battle when you throw in a zytec, the pescarolos and the other lmp1/2 cars.

They barely touched, watch the helicopter shot. I think Jorg was embelishing the whole “punted me into the wall” thing a bit. The helicopter shot showed that Jorg had space to his left, he wasn’t even over the line on the front straight. He tried to turn in and the Ferrari was already there so he had no where to go. The inside-outside move on that last turn never works at sebring because of the bumps. You always want to be on the outside. The F430 driver played his cards right. Good hard racing, and definitely the most exciting finish I think I’ve ever seen in the ALMS GT2 class. :tspry:
I didn’t see the interview after the race. But seeing the replay again, I think the first contact was incidental. But the second was caused by the Ferarri.
