130 hour restoration detail - Bentley GT

My neighbor has one of these and I get pissed off (jealousy) every time he drives by and waves.

True fact…

I can’t believe people are saying go for a new paint job… there is nothing wrong with the paint, only the clear coat was very mildly screwed up.

lol why would you repaint it?

The clear needed some buffing shit happens its a black car

+1

That’s a bit extreme.

Truly amazing work guys! what does an extensive job like this run? ballpark?

Fuck black paint.

Worst car color ever.

well, 130 hours x $80/hour comes out to somewhere around 10k

Curious, how much to repaint?

Proper, OEM quality finish with no hardlines, removing all components and windows… Well over that price of the buff. Paint Materials are not cheap either these days

that job should be 16-24 hours at most for what they did.

A high-end paint job, full tear down, prep, top quality product, etc… probably in the ballpark

Chances are that the detail job wasn’t counted in exact hours, I would bet that at least 20% of that time was pro bono.

Do you guys know what “cross posted” means?

You sound like a service manager. lol.

Yes.

I just don’t know what you could do after you’ve spend 2 hours on each panel to get better results?

130 hours does seem a bit high.

Lets say you get a solid 6.5 hours of work in per day on just this car. 5 days a week that’s 4 solid weeks doing nothing but detail this one car.

You’d be shocked. I was, when I had my guy do the Miata, and he spent a true, solid 4 8-hour days on it. Not a lot of real estate on that little car either.

He’s probably a Snap-On distributor.

Did that include all the hours needed to get the gay off him after having touched a Miata?

Fixed.
