Reasons:
Very safe, friendly work environment
They treat their employees great
Opportunities for advancement (if thats what she wants)
She will have to wear a yellow name tag due to age = HANDS OFF!
Reason #1
Scholarship. If she maintains the job for 2 years and does reasonably well, she will get a scholarship for ~$800/sem.
Its an awesome place to work at that age, particularly because the majority of the workers there would be her age, or housewives, so you dont have to worry about creepy old dudes putting the moves on her. Plus, as I said earlier, its a very safe environment, low stress, and co-workers and customers are for the most part super chill. The job has the potential to pay off in the long run. I quit because I outgrew it, I needed more money, and a less mindless job (which I didnt get).
So in all honesty, I cant say enough good things about wegmans. The benefits are great (esp the 'ol five finger discount heh)
Im not sure where you guys live, but if you can, try to get a job at a weggies in the suburbs (East Amherst). Customers are wayyy more chill out there…
fast food. mcdonalds/burger king. not the greatest job, but its not meant to be. you first job is like your first car…something that sucks ass but gets you by till you get something better.
