My Dad’s 1962 Pontiac Bonneville convertible is for sale. It was restored in 2009, is a great driver, and is in great condition. I still need to get pictures of the interior (working with somebody else’s pictures at the moment). Here is a quick breakdown of the car:
1962 Pontiac Bonneville convertible
-389ci 4barrel engine (fully rebuilt at J&L)
-New carb, and all the works (I don’t know the specifics off hand)
-Tranny was completely rebuilt by Northeast Transmissions in Hamburg
-Spare transmission is included, which was also rebuilt
-Rear end was rebuilt
-All electronics, vacuum lines, radiator, coolant passeges, water pump, etc etc were replaced with new
-New manifolds and stainless steel exhaust
-All in all, the car drives extremely smooth, but it has a lot of balls for the size of the car. At the same time, you could balance a shot glass on the air cleaner.
-Brand new PPG paint - WHITE, straight out of the jug. So this car really pops. Obviously it has been wet sanded and buffed, and the paint is as smooth as glass.
-All the chrome has been professionally redone. I think that bill alone was $7,000.00. Some of the emblems are 24k gold.
-New convertible top.
-New lights
-New wheel covers
-Underside has black rubberized undercoating and is very clean
-New red carpets
-New leather upholstery
-Original radio (still works great!)
-New A/C
-All original dash and door pieces - all very clean
-Lap belts were added
To put this in a nutshell, the big guy went into the Ames OE restoration catalog and just picked every replacement part that was available for the car :spry: No expense was spared.
He is asking $40,000.00.

Forgive the dirty engine bay pictures, it just needs a quick dusting. It’s actually very clean.

Here is my half-assed “resto-thread”… Not very in depth, but it shows the level of work that went into the paint:

If someone brings us a buyer, they will get a $250 finder’s fee. This would require you to bring me a buyer outside of my reach of this forum, (cross-post, family members, etc).
