1969 Camaro LSX/T56 Twin Turbo - 705rwhp

I have social anxiety, I’ll sit in Joes jeep drink beer and creep from a distance lol

We dont bite! Sometimes we throw things but you will adapt.

Slackers and working don’t belong in the same sentence!

If it pertains to my job today that I am technically ‘working,’ then yes, it’s relevant.

I throw things sometimes to!
Excellent work, I would love to see this and or the Nova at a meet or something.

Ok, so me & adam will come by sat night and sabotage. text me what kind of beer you like or I’m bringing pbr’s ha

progress looks good. that engine bay is filling up quick.

seeing as I don’t know a whole lot about turbos I have some questions.

how do you determine what size piping to use going from turbo>ic>tb?

turbo selection? any opinions on the oil-less comp turbos?

I’ve been told for my project I should look at a turbo anywhere from a 30/76 to a 35/82. I don’t know what this means. All I know is I want to go boosted.

this was a great read and helped me greatly years back when I was doing turbo things.

PBR tall boys work!

Just out of curiosity, why all the China made stuff? Have you found brands that actually work?

Yeah the bay is deff filling up quick. Still more room overall compared to the Nova.

Piping - Hot parts to turbo I always use 2.5" on ls stuff. Either 2x 2.5" to a t6 of 1x each to t4(twins). If I was doing a single T4 id use either 2.25 or 2.5
Cold parts from turbo to ic - Whatever the turbo happens to be. My T4 turbos are 2.5" T6 is 3 or 3.5" usually. I run either 3" or 4" from the IC to the TB. 3" took me to 9.0 last year.
Downpipes - Biggest I can fit

Turbo selection for me varies by cubes, cam, compression, desired power goal and powerband desired. People simplify this to mm but truth be told there are many factors involved.

I always use a china IC, head studs, and BOV. Id say my builds work? This car gets china turbos because people in the ford and ls community have had pretty good success with On3. Only turbo manufacture im willing to pay over china prices for currently are borg warner which i use on the nova. Wastegates im most skeptical of but I have a pair so ill give em a shot.

So I guess my answer is that I have had success with some parts and would like to have some first hand experience with the other parts. If they don’t work out I will replace them. No biggie.

Thanks. I’m wanting to go 2 stroke turbo, but I don’t like the kits that are offered and I’m running a bigger motor than what the available kits are for. Plus 6K is way too much for something I could fab up. Seems like picking the right turbo is the only difficult part.

Gotcha, I was just curious I’m noticing lots of people going to these parts but many of the “builds” are around for a single season and see little daily use. I’ll be watching your updates as I know you plan to drive this a bunch.

On3 has some truck hot side parts that caught my eye recently as well.

Lots of guys had been running the on3 stuff and I haven’t seen many failures. Im sure there are some out there. For anything seeing daily use or say if I had a built motor in there Id probably only up for the real deal stuff. Ive dealt with some really bad china stuff and some very nice stuff. Time will tell

Wow. Awesome job drew. Would love to check this out in person

Do I have to wear my nyspeed name tag? http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/10/345a00169fcaf023f9f97a832abb3254.jpg

hahaha yes you do.

I am no longer needing to travel this weekend so I want to hit it hard Friday and Sat. Last night I was lacking in motivation but atleast figured out mounting of the IC and welded on some simple brackets we made. I am getting better at Alum but it is still a pretty real struggle.

Still undecided on what I am doing with the wastegates and the BOVs are still in transit from China.

I might need a custom cougarglued IC built… you up to it?

Sounds like fun.
