1981 Ford mustang roller 8 point cage, slicks, skinnies

i will part this out, and sell skinnies, fuel cell, ect ect. ill work with any package offer.

this is a gutted shell, its set up for small block chevy and a turbo 350, could also run turbo 400 or powerglide with minimal effort.

Rearend is a ford 8.8 lsd with 2.73s in it i have a set of nice 4.10s to go with it.
I also have a spare 308 or 323 ford 8.8 lsd rearend to go with it aswell

skinnies have new 165r15s on them
slicks are 26x8.5 m&h’s with alot of life left
Car is frame tied, cage is brand new
Aluminum dash with switches
battery set up is relocated to the trunk with a master kill
Car was wired for msd, so the wiring is there if you want to run it

Radiator with electric fan
cheap elctric waterpump set up came with the car
Fuel cell, circle track style like 8 - 10 gallons
have an aluminum racing seat to go with the car.

Prior to the cage and me stripping an extra 200lbs off the car
it went 7.70 and 12.0 between lancaster and empire with the 2.73 rear gear and
that was with a cam and intake stock bottom end 350, with mexican heads. junk.

Car also comes with long tube headers for sbc

its currently apart, you can have the stock windows but the doors are gutted, the stock rear glass can be reinstalled.
I had the car about 85% stripped to bare metal for paint, then I had to push it outside, so its currently slathered in rusty metal primer to protect it.

Car recently when I pushed it outside, its not sitting there, i was turning it around. (slicks are inside my house, those wheels come with it too, they are just crap rollers)

Car is originally from NC. Its a race car, and its being sold as a race car. No title.

This car was consistent and “will hook in a corn field” - per previous owner.
I had the car since late feb last year, couldnt put it together the way i wanted too, now I dont see myself putting it together.

1500$ obo. this is a steal.

Car is set up for b&m line lock
has a volvo manual steering quick steer rack in it

Car was raced 2 summers ago weekly.

You could easily have it ready for race season, sand, paint, drop a motor in. few weekends and a few cases of blue.

bump, if you want to go fast in something light stop dumping excessive amounts of money into a crappy 4 cylinder and build a rwd v8 car that weighs the same.

put 350hp in this thing and go low 7s all day.

a track only car isnt feasable for me right now, thats the ONLY reason I’m selling this, and the reason I’m getting rid of it so cheap is so I can refocus the money into something else.

what headers are they?

just gotta take a shot at the “crappy 4 cylinder guys” we can run the same times, for just as cheap and not be in a no title “race car”.

Yeah the price isnt moving very much at all, maybe 1400. I’m not giving it away.
A cage is 300 + instal thats half the price of the car saved for anyone looking to go fast.

This car > fox bodys that are around, to get the car as light as this, with the steering set up headers ect. you will spend alot more than 1500$

The cage is fully welded in, its not some pos bolt in cage.

How much are you willing to bet?

If you still buy have this in the summer and my car makes it down the track all season without multiple failures and runs sevens you can give me the car. If I don’t then I’ll buy it off of you.

what car, the evo? did you get the evo and all mods for less than 3k?

^^^yea, not gonna have a 4cyl with total cost under 3k run that fast. unless you’re a little bitch and mommy and daddy gives you the car, so technically you end up having less then 3k of your own money into it…but then that doesnt matter because no one would have respect for that person anyways…its a fact that if you want to go fast, esp for cheap, a v8 is the way too go. with how light this car is, even just a 300hp motor this thing would move pretty good, esp with how well these can hook.

from what i can tell its worth 1500 all day long.

who cares if theres no title. its a drag car. if you want a title, then this isnt the car you want at all. since when does it matter if you have a title for a drag car?

its solid, the rust on the floor pans looks like just surface rust from being bare metal. it already has a cage, has a fuel system, has a set of skinnies and slicks, longtubes, the mounts already there for the drivetrain, already wired, cooling system, seat, and aluminum dash, and spare parts

you really think you can build a drag car minus engine/trans with that much already for less then 1500? no, you cant. this car is great for someone wanting to get into drag racing on a budget.

I just said I found a roller with suspension, cage, TITLE, AND PAINT for $1800

If you’re on a huge budget I doubt you have money for a trailer/rig associated with pulling a car like this anyways

i like how you avoided every question i asked and just restated that you found a street car without a drivetrain with a title for more money.

its a drag car, no need for a title, and alot of the work is done. even if you found something you think is better for a little more money, this is still a good deal, and it comes with extra parts.

Bolt in frame ties are junk, these are welded in, bolt in cages are junk, also welded in.
Already have slicks and skinnies with an 8.8 out back and a spare 8.8 and 4.10s.

The headers are long tubes specific for foxbody 350 swaps. it has solid mounts welded to the chassis already for sbc, comes with a corssmember and driveshaft.
Not to mention to short steer manual steering rack which has turns much faster than any of the ford products available.

Master kill, batter relocation ect. Aluminum dash with switches ect. too much shit. I’m taking a beating on this badly, but prioritys change.

a cam only ls1 in this car would be in the 6’s all day.
