Been a long time since i’ve frequented these boards, I picked something up today that you guys might like.
its a one owner 1987 RX7 GXL loaded with factory options. It even has the Super rare 2+2 seat option, and Period correct fog lights. The amazing part is everything on this car still works, R12 blows cold, The Factory alarm system works great, The Auto adjusting suspension that tightens down on the shocks to firm up the ride works EVERYTHING even the sweet 80s stereo.
The owner was a man in his 70s, Extremely nice guy and very protective of the car. He has owned the car since 1987 and it has a complete maintenance history since day one. He gave me service manuals, invoices, tons of magazines, booklets and other cool special rx7 stuff that you can’t find anymore. He even had Mazda install a brand new motor, Stainless exhaust and new cat 4,000 miles ago! i have paperwork for EVERYTHING
Here’s a few pictures.
(Sidenote, yes that’s my wrangler in the background… I might make a thread on that later)
I won’t post any of the picture of the maintenance history because they’re about 3’’ thick
All i have done is removed the front plate bracket and tinted the fog lights yellow because JDM Yo’ I really don’t have any plans for it except a period correct GTU spoiler and Possibly a front lip.
Installation + tune up, ac recharge and some other small things came to $1288.43
The engine after shipping, minor upgrades (seals) water pump and gaskets was about $1,600. The new catalytic converter looks like it was almost $250 and i can’t seem to find the stainless exhaust invoice, It’s probably in the other folder, but those are usually $700-1100
Yes
Mazda offered a rear seat option for small children for a while, a lot of people opted for the storage bins instead because of how small the seats are. I need to call my insurance company actually about this… i do believe it is cheaper to insure a 2+2 over a regular 2 seater. The body style did not change at all with the exterior of the car, these seats are very small and when i sat in one the headliner was at my shoulder.
Sorry about the bad quality, when i pull it out i will get a better photo
