1988 Mazda RX7 Convertible

Hey all,

Just gauging interest on this before I put it away for the year.

Here we go:

The Car:

1988 Mazda RX7 Convertible
13b 2-rotor 1.3l (NA)
140xxx kms
5 speed
No A/C
Power Top
Power Windows
Clutch-Type LSD Diff

Parts:

  • S5 front bumper from 1989+ models (I will include original s4 front bumper)

  • H4 Headlight conversion

  • S5 taillights

  • Professionally rolled front fenders (by Blain at Righteous Garage)

  • HSD Monopro Coilovers (brand new this summer)

  • 17x9 +15 Square Wheels G33

  • 215/40/17 Falken 912 tires (Rears will need replacing)

  • Brand new ARP Extended Studs all around

  • Brand new Muteki chrome purple open ended lugs

  • Brand new Hawk HPS Pads (F+R)

  • Brand new rear rotors

  • Brand new rear wheel bearings and seals

  • Brand new Mazdaspeed DTSS Rear Steer eliminator bushings

  • Borla Dual tip catback exhaust (sounds VERY good)

  • Racing Beat Presilencer

  • 2.5" test pipe

The Good:

  • NO ROT. The underside of this car is spotless. No holes in the floor, no soft rails, no bullshit. I took the rear spindles off with hand tools, and the bolts came out absolutely 100% rust free.
  • The original paint is phenominal for a 25 year old car. I buffed the shit out of it.
  • All lenses/lights are uncracked, and crystal clear
  • Starts, runs, drives, stops. Works great, the 13b starts up every time.
  • Interior electronics ALL WORK. Cruise, windows, top, everything. Rare for an RX7.
  • Clean, intact interior. All panels are in good shape.
  • Needs nothing for safety
  • Etest valid until next May

The Bad:

  • Top is ripped at the base, near the doors, on both sides. I’ve patched from the inside, and put a healthy amount of silicone over it to seal out water. It looks ghetto, but it works.
  • Bit of a crinkling in the quarter panel behind the rear driverside wheel. Looks like the p/o backed into something. Very fixable.

My asking price is $5600. I don’t need to get rid of this, so lowballs will not be considered at all. Please keep any negative comments to yourself. I don’t want to say no trades, but I’ll say that I’m unlikely to go for any trades.

seen this car in person, seen the bolts he was talking about when he swapped suspension… its true, car is super duper clean.

good luck with the sale mike, sure it won’t be an issue selling it!

Had one of these cars 2 years ago, there awesome. And good on gas

SWEET CAR! but wrong section :frowning:

Liar, he never owned one of these.

Secretly I hope no one buys this car so I can drool over it every time I go to my shop.

awesome car

Bump, likely moving into a condo, so I’d prefer not to have this sit in an underground parking lot for eternity. Willing to move on the price

Will take partial trades for something I can beat the shit out of on a track - S13 Hatch, AE86, etc.

A/C components have been removed? or system leaked? just need a charge? and any pictures of the area of the top that’s ripped as well as hole in driver door?

I thought it didn’t have A/C at all, but I now see in that pic there is a button… So I honestly have no clue if it works lol.

I’ll try and upload the pics tomorrow, or text me and I can send them to you sooner.

BUMP - Just gauging interest on this, before I put it away. Something else has caught my attention…

Updated the first post. I will not entertain lowballs or silly offers - I don’t need to sell this.
