Issues:
Headrest speakers work intermittently
Passenger window switch doesn’t work (have new switch, not installed)
Interior trunk release not functional (have new cable – not installed)
Gas level sensor does not display gas light, and guage is inaccurate (shows empty on guage with ~20L left in the tank, vs. the normal 13L as per the owner’s manual) (have part, not installed)
Small rust bubble forming on passenger rear wheel well, still surface rust at this stage
Driver’s door has been repainted by previous owner and paint is faded. I have buffed this well once before but it has returned to the way I bought it, will need repainting
(best solution for above: was quoted for ~$1000 for rust cut out & new metal welded at rear wheel weels, as well as driver’s door resurfacing and paint- includes proper blending – at Select Auto Collision in Markham – Frank is a family friend so this price is probably better than any shop you go to)
3” tear on driver’s side seat bolster – (best solution: http://www.racingbeat.com/RX7-1986-1992/Upholstery-Kits/20019.html )
Price options:
$4500 – certified and e-tested but taken AS-IS without the Mazdaspeed wheels – as in you could pick it up after safety done & install the parts yourself.
$5300 – cert. & e-tested + wheels, still taken as-is
$5800 – cert. & e-tested +wheels, with the trans. mounts, short shifter, DTSS elmins., weatherstripping, pass. window switch – installed
$6300 – same as above with all fluids flushed and refilled (diff, trans, coolant, clutch, brake) , belts replaced, trunk release cable & fuel level sensor installed, oil change done (was done 3,000km anyways), anything
Considering Trades for something with more space, must be manual, prefer something sporty
ABSOLUTELY NO PART-OUTS!! Unless you find a buyer for the shell, I will not part with the engine. Unless you find a buyer for an EMPTY convertible shell, I will not part with any interior items. Convertible Rx-7s are rare enough these days, and finding one in this condition will cost you more than I am asking.
Prices are FIRM! (I gave you freakin’ options didn’t I?.)
Looking for trades for some sort of bigger vehicle that’s still fun to drive. Prefer manual trans. Subaru Impreza/Legacy, Mazdaspeed Protege or Protege 5, BMW 3-series… let me know what you have. Equal or lesser value + cash…
