1989 23' VIP Vindicator boat

Long story short…I bought this boat 2 years ago with no engine, I finally found a replacement motor last year and have been cruising it since then. One major problem…I lost the title. I went to the DMV and the process for a replacement title is pretty simple and I have done a few of the steps already. The only reason for the sale is that i dont need such a big boat and the I can not really afford the gas in it. The boat is powered by a OMC King Cobra Ford 460 and has been gps’d between 57-62 depending on the conditions, also has through hull exhaust but it is under the water line so its not horribly loud until you get on it. 2 newer batteries and a battery switch installed, Sony waterproof cd player and 6 1/2" speakers. The boat is a cuddy cabin and it does have a decent sized cabin that can sleep 2-3 and there are 2 seats down there. Up top there are 2 captain chairs and a bech seat in the back. The interior of the boat does need a cleaning and the outside needs the gelcoat buffed. She runs amazing and has never left me stranded, I live on the canal about 12-15 miles from the river and I cruise out to the river and mess around out there for a bit then back with no hiccups. Im in the process of rebuilding the back bench seat and replacing the wheel bearing on the trailer. The dual axle trailer is included. Make an offer on it…The king cobra outdrive is worth any where from $700-1000 and the trailer is right around the same.

Let the low balling begin!

Yea I expect it. I am looking to get around $2,000 for it. If I dont get close to that I will finish the title process and selll it for $6-7,000 easily.

I don’t about 6-7k with the title… That’s a lot for a 1989. How is the floor/carpet?

Floor and carpet are solid. “Offshore” speed boats like this hold there value no matter how old they are. If it was a typical run about with a 4 cylinder it would be worth a lot less. I guess once you have a boat that goes over 50 they get expensive.

All boats are off shore. On shore boats are called docks.

I am very interested in this but did you have it titled in your name before you lost the title or is it still titled to the previous owner?

Was a marine survey completed after the replacement of the engine?
Also is it somewhere that I can bring my wife out to check it out? We were looking at 30+ but I bet this would be more fun.

Is there a way to get the title once I buy it or are you pretty much selling it for parts?

I never had a marine survey and im not even sure what that is lol. There is a way to get it titled and its actually not that hard, just have to deal with the slow dmv bullshit. If anyone wants to see it feel free to text or call me at 807-8691.

ttt

I guess I don’t understand; getting the title would result in another 4 grand of value and you claim it is easy to get, yet you don’t want to do it?
I mean I understand your time is worth something, but it sounds like it would be worth the effort.

I am also really confused here. Saying your boat goes over 50 doesn’t mean there’s no value for it. It’s still a 1989 boat.

Thanks. Stick to motor homes and quit shitting up my thread, also do some research on boats…oh yea its sold too.

Lol I have a boat and I know a lot about them. Congrats on your sale, I hope you got your asking price.

I bought this last year around this time. I had all the paperwork to Brad by July. He finally went to the DMV in the beggining of Janruary with all the paperwork. He still hasent gotten anything from the DMV. Does anyone know how long this process takes? I feel like 4 full months is a long time.

Nice boat. Sell it to Scott now.

If only i had the title!
