Abandoned car and title issues (V. is it worth it?)

Ok, guy that owns my place of business is selling one of his buildings out in the middle of nowhere.

In the front (and he toldme he has a week to get rid of it asap) is a 1994 Ford Escort Coupe

Its an auto, and needs a bit of TLC, like replacing some interior pieces, new fender, fix the door thats loose etc. It runs and drives fine. Basically theres a pretty good chance i can get this car for next to nothing seeing as the fucking truck is drinking my wallet dry in gas.

HERES THE PROBLEM… It has been left there for over a year, with plates, registration and everything, car was basically cleaned out of all possesions, there is a registration in the glove box, with name address, etc.

There is honestly no doubt in anyones mind that this woman is never coming back to get this car.

How hard would it be to get this car so its in my name? What steps would i have to take?

Any serious problems with these cars?

basically what would i have to do, if anything to get this car?

Can you track her down and ask for the title, offering a small amount of cash? Otherwise, as the property owner, he would have to go through a bunch of steps to get legal ownership of it, probably not worth it for a damaged Escort that has been sitting for a year.

the registration card is in the glovebox with her name and adress, might be something too look into

you can always part it out for some cash or scrap it, most junkyards will take a car with no title/reg

save yourself the hassle of trying to go through the legal BS, It’s an escort, ford made a billion of them!!!
