need advice disposing of car

Long story short a friend of a friend rented a storage space from me in December, I was paid for January at that time. I have not received a penny since and have been asking my friend since April to ask him to remove his car. The friend does not have any money, does not have anywhere to put the car and does not have a valid license. I want the car gone asap, it is not currently running and is worth scrap more or less. It is a early 1990s Pontiac sunbird turbo . Not concerned about cash just want it off my property, advice??

Some people advertise on craigslist that they buy cars without titles, might want to contact one of them. Demo derby season as well.

Push it out into the street ?

I’d be worried about liability if someone got hurt, I might look into craigslist, the dudes not the type to sue or anything not worried , at this point he owes me the cars worth in rent

you don’t need a title you need an abandoned vehicle form (MV35 or 37 cant remember) you give this to the IVC (itinerant Vehicle collector) (The guys who are on craigslist) keep a copy.

Can’t you get a bonded title and own it?

How bad is it and could it be fixed for a winter beater?

It could be used for a beater, it needs work, windows fall off track, steering column feels like its going to fall off, its a general POS but is solid, its a manual BTW. It was driven to north Carolina and back last fall but hasn’t legally been on the road for a few years. I really dont want to own it or care what happens to it, I just want it gone I’ll check into the DMV thing , thanks

I would be willing to pick this up for a few hundred bucks if you decide to go that route? Pm me if you are interested

I would pay you scrap price if the dmv will turn it over to you. 90´s sunbirds can take a beating.

I think once I fill out the form it will not be able to be titled again

true

Tell him to give you the title.
if he says no, tell him you’re pushing it roadside, calling the police, and telling them you saw someone taking a body and guns out of the trunk.

Guys love these cars, especially 5 speed ones. You might be surprised what it could be worth.

I sold my Buick Skyhawk turbo 4 speed manual for a mint and it wasn’t anything special. Get the title and sell it, at least make some money off your troubles.

I would take it off your hands with no title ?

This is a manual/5 speed Sunbird Turbo? If so, can you get me the exact year off it? Or the VIN?
What’s the mileage? Do you know why it doesn’t run?
I am extremely interested in getting the transmission out of this, if not the whole drivetrain. They are rare as hell and I need one.

1,500 cash

lol if you guys are serious I am sure he will cough up the title, I really don’t want to deal with it though, it ran and drove in the fall, now it will crank but not start, it was run out of gas, I literally spent 15 mins messing with it before I drug it out of my barn with a tow rope, it is a 5 speed, it is early 90s, 92?? maybe?
Its generally rough cosmetically but complete and solid.

^see told you. Don’t junk it, give it to someone who loves these things. As a car guy it’s your duty!!

FYI I sold my turbo skyhawk for $4500 6 or 7 years ago and it wasn’t pretty. Solid hatchback turbo 4 speed manual with reccaros.

These are deff fun silly little cars.
