1993 Honda CBR900RR Red/White/Blue

Been contemplating this all winter, I want back on a Monster, but don’t want two bikes. I’ve had this CBR since Aug 2011 and since then have put about 6k on it. I bought it from a guy in PA who was big into bike culture down there, knew the mechanic who built the bike and had a lot of info about it. The bike had a blown motor due to oil starvation from wheelies most likely. The motor in it now if from another 93, and was rebuilt with new crankshaft, port/polished bench flow tested heads, and the 997cc big bore kit. I added some Factory Pro parts in 2012, all work done by Matt at RSUK. The plastics are in good shape, there’s some cracks here and there but overall its pretty good for a 21 year old bike. The odometer reads ~30k, but there is only ~10k on the motor. It runs excellent, very fast, you’ll surprise a lot of people with how fast it is. It easily kept up with a CBR1000rr until 4th gear. I’d love to dyno it to see how much power it makes. Handling is good too although the one negative to the bike is that it needs a rear shock rebuild or replacement. There are 4-5 companies who will make a shock for it, or you can get the stock one rebuilt. The only other thing I can think of is the turn signals have all been swapped out with newer CBR OEM ones, front’s are from a 07 1000rr, the rears are from a 600rr I believe. I have the OEM floppy ones as well.

Basic Info:

Stainless Brake Lines
96 Triple Clamp (fixes some twitchyness)
New Fuel Pump
Shoria battery
New Coolant lines (Engine Ice in the bike)

Wear Items:
Front Rotors & Pads are still good, they have less than 10k on them
Rear rotor and pads have less than 1000 miles.
Chain has around 10k on it, but still looks good. It’s -1 or -2 sprocket in the rear I believe. Have to double check.
Tires have about 5-6k on them, Pilot Road 2 rear, Metzler M3 front (still has 16" front wheel).
New R1 rectifier (not installed, but included)

I’m asking $4500 obo, the only motorcycle I’m looking for is a Ducati Monster S2R1000 or S4RS. I would also maybe consider a Honda Fit partial trade plus cash on my end.

These pictures are from the summer, but the bike basically went right back in the garage and wasn’t ridden again after this. More pictures available on request.

THIS THING IS SWEET!

UGH I used to own a 93 CBR RR. Loved the bike!
GLWS!

uh oh. I love it.

Nice bike. Iv been toying with the idea for a few years on getting a street bike. But i think my budget is a little less.

One of the cooler looking bikes from what I believe is the coolest time period of bikes…

Awesome little bike glws

100% agree, I miss my 94 fzr 1000 and my 87 gsxr 750, it looked so much better than bikes in the same era.

OP glws, real nice looking bike.

So rad.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the compliments. I wanted to start collecting these older sport bikes, but it’s just not a good time for me to start doing so. I was close to getting a 89 gsxr750 last year but it fell through. Such cool bikes, the style was so much more interesting to me than newer sport bikes. I hope I can find someone who will keep this CBR stock looking and not chrome everything and polish the frame. Seems to be the thing to do still, 20 years later.

Bump for spring!

70s this weekend bump!

just curious…with a motor swap how is this thing titled?

i know with harleys (post 1970) once you swap the motor and you try and get it inspected with a vin that doesnt match the frame you run into a lot of headaches…

It’s got a regular NY title, nothing special. I’ve had it inspected a couple times now and no one has ever given me an issue. Most of the time they’re too busy telling me how cool it is or how they can’t believe how old it is lol

Ugh I <3 this era of bikes. Good luck with sale.

I really really wish I could afford to give this a proper home in my garage. Every time you update I stop in to drool a little.

If I had the dough for this bike it would get parked in my den, way too nice to hide in a garage.

Bump, lowered my asking price on CL to 4400, but for the forum $4200 obo.

Bump, this is still for sale although I haven’t been active trying to sell. I’m moving soon and don’t know for sure if I’ll have a garage. PM me or email me if interested in coming to see it. Thanks!
