~1995ish Subraru Impreza 2dr AWD Yard Car~

For sale:

1995~ish Subaru Impreza 2dr Coupe.

It has been in a front end collision and the air bags have deployed.

The air bags have been cut out so you can still drive it.

It has roughly 195,xxx miles on it.

The body is actually pretty clean, excpet for the front end.

The left front frame rail is pushed in a bit in front of the strut tower, the suspension is STRAIGHT and it drives STRAIGHT.

Alloy Wheels with good tires, about 8/32nds tread depth left.

2.2L Automatic AWD

Would make a good demo/back yard car for whatever.

Asking $500 FIRM

Car is located in Lancaster and will need to be towed. Car has a clean title.

Are your scales accurate?

Not trying to be a dick here, but that car can’t weigh more than 3,000 lbs. How are you getting 650 for this in scrap?

He’s talking about breaking it up and selling things separate, which can generate a lot more cash than just running it over the scales whole. ie the car as a whole may only get 11 cents a pound, but if you pull the aluminum wheels off, they could be worth 27 cents a pound. Plus he works at the yard, so I am sure he gets better rates than the average joe.

Exactly what i was thinking, Even parted out you dont get more than $450 for a car like this from twin village

Ughh, I wish I had the time/resources to build a rally-x car right now :frowning:

Would it have been better if he just said his price was $650 and left out the scrap value part?

Scrap yards all pay different prices for the same thing. This could be $200 one place and $500 another on the same day. Plus if you break it down further, and have the Hook-up, getting more than the average person isn’t an issue.

Yea I should have left the scrap value out of it. The body is worth $325. Convertors worth around $150 rims worth around $60. Engine has a $125 core. Etc. I don’t get payed anymore than the average Joe. I just know how to scrap. Twin village is the biggest rip off con artist place you could take anything.

Bit yes the price is $650

No offense takin. This is why I buy a lot of $400-500 cars because I can make money when people are either misinformed or lazy when it comes to scrapping.

Exactly.

Explain the engine core value please? And where do you recommend taking scrap to,they all basically pay the same within a couple cents…twin village is just so close to my house

also GLWS

What’s the name of the scrapyard off William in Buffalo near USPS? My friend and his Dad always go there and say they pay more than others.

this should be in the parts section.

dont know the name but they do have the best prices ive found for scrap steel, not sure about aluminum/copper though.

Have you figured out what year it is yet?

Yes it is a 1995 I just moved it to my shop in Lancaster.

If you wanna learn more about scrapping go downtown and follow the trucks that look like they are stacked 2 stories high and falling apart. If I told you guys all the secrets I’d never make any money

So please lets keep this on topic to sell the car!
