He’s talking about breaking it up and selling things separate, which can generate a lot more cash than just running it over the scales whole. ie the car as a whole may only get 11 cents a pound, but if you pull the aluminum wheels off, they could be worth 27 cents a pound. Plus he works at the yard, so I am sure he gets better rates than the average joe.
Would it have been better if he just said his price was $650 and left out the scrap value part?
Scrap yards all pay different prices for the same thing. This could be $200 one place and $500 another on the same day. Plus if you break it down further, and have the Hook-up, getting more than the average person isn’t an issue.
Yea I should have left the scrap value out of it. The body is worth $325. Convertors worth around $150 rims worth around $60. Engine has a $125 core. Etc. I don’t get payed anymore than the average Joe. I just know how to scrap. Twin village is the biggest rip off con artist place you could take anything.
Bit yes the price is $650

No offense takin. This is why I buy a lot of $400-500 cars because I can make money when people are either misinformed or lazy when it comes to scrapping.
Explain the engine core value please? And where do you recommend taking scrap to,they all basically pay the same within a couple cents…twin village is just so close to my house
Yes it is a 1995 I just moved it to my shop in Lancaster.
If you wanna learn more about scrapping go downtown and follow the trucks that look like they are stacked 2 stories high and falling apart. If I told you guys all the secrets I’d never make any money
So please lets keep this on topic to sell the car!
