I think its funny that you need a datalogger on totally stock fueled car with adjusting easily managable boost pressure on 2 turbos that couldnt hold 10 psi to redline on a mopen motor.
My 96 had a ECU recall that didn’t display the gutted precats CEL. I got an OBDII scanner and got the car inspected immediately after I did the drive cycles to get the necessary readiness monitors to come on. It was a fucking bitch.
If you plan to do the upgraded turbos, doing the FMIC now isn’t a bad thing. It just won’t do much for you if you don’t plan to do the turbo upgrade as you are severely limited with stock turbo/fuel.
Not sure why it’s funny? It’s a valuable tool especially for a platform that is nearly 15 years old.
Its funny to get a datalogger when you should probably get some type of fuel management or else the datalogger is pretty much pointless. Unless you said that and I missed it.
Its called knock :nod
Pointless? It’s a small price to pay for insurance when some of these cars are over 15 years old. Leaky injectors, clogged fuel filters, etc… can cause a lean condition and stock turbo/fuel’ed cars often see knock issues from raising the stock boost from to 14-16PSI. Also, that boost is starting to approach fuel cut too. It’s important to know what’s safe and what is not.
get a wideband and an emanage.
i heard that with a twin turbo and twin intercooler setup(like mine) its more efficent to run twin sidemounts vs a larger FMIC. Is that accurate or does that just go up to like 500hp and then u need to move to a single?
i got all 4 same wheels and tires. quattro doesnt like staggered wheels. i cant figure out what they did on the new RS6 avant though, the wheels are different front and back. hows that work? JLine wheels are pretty nice.5RL2, 5RL3 and 6RL are pretty nice and they got a buncha finish colors you can go with. my summer 19s are gunmetal, so its pretty :ninja stealth, but now when the motor runs u hear it rather well
quattro should only care if the tire diameter is the same. Diff width should be fine.
edit: I can’t find anywhere that says that the rs6 has staggered wheels…
Why? He has stock fuel. He doesn’t need E-Manage nor would he really benefit much from it.
For right now im just getting started on this car so a wideband I can see getting but an E-manage isn’t really a requirement as far as tuning is concerened right now. I will need it though once I get a bigger fuel pump, injectors, and eventually my upgraded turbo’s. But that may or may not happen in 08 so we will see.
And well I thought about it last night that as far as my rims go I think that I am going to steer away from staggerd as the car has enough problems with understeer as it is. I am going to stay with a 18x8.5 all the way around.
Sounds like you’re on the right track. :thumb
I doubt those 2 intercoolers are more efficient than a big front mount. They prolly help spool time with shorter ic pipes and are probably fine for what you have so theres no point in changing
