So i just picked up a 1991 galant vr4 #900/2000 about a week and a half ago. I’ve been busting my ass every night on it and the plan is to have it done in about 2 weeks, I figure if i dont set a goal i wont have the ambition and it will take for ever. the car was completely stock when i trailered it home and after a quick rip down the road i found out the clutch was gone, the turbo has blow by and the water pump was throwing up.
First things first, parts list.
Belts and pulleys
T belt tensioner
MLS head gasket
Water pump
ARP head studs
ACT 2600
EVO 3 Big 16g
ETS FMIC
NGK wideband
S-AFC II
3" GM MAF

Now let the fun begin. So far I have removed all the vacuum line so i can just put in whats needed, A/C is gone, rear steer, and a hole bunch of random crap I dont need. After that the first thing I did was change the clutch. Once that was done i pulled all the belts, pulleys, head exhaust and turbo off. Last night i was able to get the ARP head studs in and put my ported head on and put my cams in. When i got home today i found a sweet box at the door and found my turbo in it so I was able to put my evo3 ported exhaust manifold and turbo on. And this is where i end. While I continue waiting for my front mount Im going to try and get everything else together so all i have to do is finish the rear brakes, my exhaust and wire in my S-AFC. I will try and remember to get some pics tomorrow.
well i dont have the extra money for dsmlink this year and i already had the s-afc from my old talon. im going to have more goodies for spring this is just so i can drive the car.
:lol That was probably the one being sold which was bought by Rob(old Dodge colt Turbo Rob) who later sold it to Pete up at KTA and eventually went off the road into the trees up in Canada at a TSD Pete attended when a lower front balljoint popped at about 80mph on a gravel road.
Man that’s like going down through the “family tree” of the APG hayday tracking the roots of a lost family member :crackup
