1997 Ford Explorer Issues

Well besides its being a Ford…compounded by the fact that its an Explorer my truck is having what could be a big or little issue.

About 3 weeks ago I noticed that my temp needle would only move up to the very first line on the gauge. Well since i have no time to get it checked out I continue to drive it…no problems aside from now that its been cooler at nite…I have gone to use my heater and its not blowing anything close to hot air.

My coolant was also down a bit at my last oil change so I topped that off.

Thermostat? Heater Core?

1997 Exploder 4.0L 144k on it.

could be t stat, more than likely thats what it is, change that, still no heat grap you heater hoses, should be different temps, if not cold be the water pump or the heater core.

make sure water is circulating through the motor, grab both hoses make sure they are getting water pressure and hot.

If that seems fine take a look at the blend door if you aren’t getting hot air.
