Seeing if there is any interest on here…
I have been given custody of my grandfather’s '99 Volvo C70. He is a BMW guy at heart, and this was a brief moment away from that.
He purchased this car two years ago from Sutherland Motors in Rochester. I drove it from there to him in NYC. He now has bought a new car, and does not want to pay for two spaces in his garage. Thus me having it here in Buffalo and trying to get rid of it for him.
Anyway,
Price: $8500
Car: 1999 Volvo C70 Convertible
Engine: 2.4L 5-cyl turbo
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: FWD
VIN: YV1NC56D4XJ001686
Mileage: 72,368
Extended warranty until 82,208
(will need to be transferred for $50)
This is a California car. When it was in Cali, it was ‘Branded’ by the California Lemon Law. California is very strict as many of you know. Once a car has a certain amount of issues, it will be branded and bought back by the manufacturer. Which is what happened to this car.
I have all documents of the complaints and the record of repairs, most of them are basic maintenance of the vehicle;
- Vehicle will not start - replaced battery
- Steering wheel loosing color - replaced steering wheel
- Left sunvisor will not stay up - replaced sunvisor
- Brake vibration - replaced rear rotors
Mostly silly things that JUST HAPPEN. Seemed like the person in Cali just wanted the manufacturer to buy it back…
There are some mechanical issues on the list as well, but nothing too serious.
Since then the car was sold at an auction and eventually ended up in Rochester. Once my grandfather purchased it, he replaced the turbo and normal wear things; front rotors, front and rear pads, a/c heat exchanger, O2 sensors, spark plugs…mostly everything being covered by the extended warranty. Regularly serviced by Volvo, and recently aligned.
New radio due to him forcing the original CD cartridge out without pushing the eject button, lol. This happened when he first bought it. Also the snazzy sheep skin seat covers and floor mats will be included in purchase.
Car is always garaged, and the guy at his garage would clean it up after each use. He does not drive this around the city, just trips out of NYC and such to see family and friends. The body is mint, there is one small dent on the right front fender. I also have the original window sticker. Came with ALL options!
Other than that, this thing is ready to go. It is currently in my garage and I am hoping to get rid of it before my landlord discovers it in there I drove this back from NYC this past weekend. It is a great cruiser, and surprisingly quick on the highway!
Pictures::
I think it’s a great looking car (the coupe version being a lil better looking though ).
