1QIK Tranny (not vestite)

lol

Congrats on the lift

Don’t go thinking your gonna bring the white cloud down to my shop now. You help me put that tranny back together and I may reconsider.

I’ll see what I can do to help. Pretty busy with my own projects lately and preparing for my BASE trip to Norway.

Appreciate any help offered. I completely understand others are busy as I am. Realistically, I’m planning to swap over the winter so there’s plenty of time. Finally got everything off the shafts. Just need to replace parts provided in the kit and start reassembly.

Got me a delivery this morning to aid with the eventual tranny swap. Quite the heavy hunk of steel. Glad I have a neighbor with a forklift (whooped as it was) to help drop it in the shop. Got everything unpacked and managed to get the posts located and spaced properly to drill the holes. Need to move a couple lights above, otherwise I couldn’t have asked for a better fit. By end of next week I should have it all wired in and ready to start liftin shit. Very happy with everything so far. It’s a BendPak XPR-10A Asymmetrical lift. Came with everything (even shims and expansion bolts) plus the truck and van adapters so I don’t crush my step pipes. Bought from a company in New England area to no tax and free shipping. Delivered as promised. Was surprisingly well packaged and just had some minor paint scuffs and such.

Plan on keeping 1HIGHZ up in the air over the winter to save space.

I’m so incredibly jealous right now

congrats man

If you’re nice to me I don’t see why you couldn’t use it when necessary…as in not to build your entire car but when it’s brutally helpful.

could be nice to run my side pipes, still working on that deep fryer BTW.

I have that crock pot (you already know this) when do you leave for work tomorrow?

8:30. I don’t know that a crock pot will be hot enough.

if you want to stop by tomorrow morning ill be home.

my dad does have an extra fryer, but i have to go hunting for it

No worries. Got many appointments in the morning. Whenever.

Lifts are totally ghey, I’da never bought one.

Gonna find other things to lifts besides cars and trucks.

Good stuff

Not a ton has changed. Made some small progress on the lift install in the odd hour or two I have throughout the weeks. Got the cross member up, strung the balance cables, hung the hydro pump, set floor anchors, and purchased all the wiring, breaker, and hydro fluid needed to complete. Just need to connect to the panel, wire up the limit switch, run the safety release cable, fill with juice, and bleed. Sucker ended up dead level after setting the posts plumb and running the balance cables. We had to move a couple lights above to accommodate.
EVERYTHING on this damn thing is heavy and I even needed my buddy to help me lift each one of the lift arms in place. Nice setup so far but the only complaint I have is with some of the assembly directions. We installed the hydraulic hoses backwards the first time as the sketches were not as clear as they could’ve been. Hope to have it functional by the weekend, early next week. This would go nice in that mega barn near Rochester.

Lookin’ damn good

Keep up the good work man

Got the lift completed a couple weeks ago and had a chance to test it for a summer / winter tire swap out. So far so good. I can’t begin to say how nice it is not to have to jockey floor jacks, stands, and such around to get simple tasks accomplished (not to gloat). I must be getting older. Another benefit is that the arms telescope in close enough to lift sleds too. No more creeper at the cold floor for suspension greasing / work.

With that said, I am going to get the car down there shortly to start winter modifications. I have to pull the tranny first and foremost and wondering if anyone would be willing to let me borrow a tranny jack for the pull and re-install. I don’t anticipate getting into this before the end of October. Any help would be appreciated as I’ve far exceeded my tool budget for the season. Thanks.
