1st time being scamed..

This is a very interesting story…it’s a good thing your bank caught this bad check. I wonder if the bank tried to contact the person who sent it…maybe that is why he hasn’t come to get the sled. why would he delete his account right after sending you “money”? he probably didn’t want any trouble so he disappeared…you should def. have the cops ready if he contacts you to pick the sled up…good luck

From Wikipedia:
"All states permit citizen arrests if a felony crime is witnessed by the citizen carrying out the arrest, or when a citizen is asked to help apprehend a suspect by the police. The application of state laws varies widely with respect to misdemeanor crimes, breaches of the peace, and felonies not witnessed by the arresting party. Note particularly that American citizens do not have the authorities or the legal protections of the police, and are liable before both the civil law and criminal law for any violation of the rights of another. The State of North Carolina Supreme court has passed down the decision that in the state of NC there is no such thing as legal Citizens arrest. However, if a citizen wittnesses a felony he may detain a subject for only as long as it takes local authorities to arrive. This is reffered to as a Citizens Detention. Not Citizens Arrest.

I’d be pretty careful about making a “citizens arrest”. I have no idea if giving someone a bad check is a felony???

You’ll probably never hear from him again. Probably started the scam and then got cold feet, caught elsewhere, or something like that.

If it does go further keep us posted.

Any type of citizens arrest or detention is a stupid idea. Unless you want to spend time in court also. Just call the police

ahahahaha citizen’s arrest

i’m with JNJ and pretty much everyone else in this thread, subscribed

i don’t think writing a bad check is, but counterfit checks?

yea counter fit checks are a felony

oh yeah, ask the police to hide when he comes…that’ll be awesome…

then bust him up! haha
