The U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could cost taxpayers a total of $2.4 trillion by 2017 when counting the huge interest costs because combat is being financed with borrowed money, according to a study released on Wednesday.

Waste of fucking money…let’s add Iran and a few other countries that “have” weapons of mass destruction or are harbouring terrorists and get that number a bit higher. This country is falling apart and in resession and here we are spending on foreign policy.
Sometimes I stop and look at what happened to the Roman empire and see it hitting home a lot faster and harder then anyone seems to think. This country isn’t what is was at the start of the 20th century, and no one seems to notice. Sometimes I stop and think what would happen if the government failed. Would it really be that bad is the bottom half of society was abolished? People would have to “think” for themselves, and be aware of their surroundings.
Our society is a FAIL BOAT.
Come on. Spending that much for a war is SO MUCH more important than helping counties and cities in debt, provide funding for schools, help cut college costs by providing more grants and scholarships, or even creating more public works projects to provide more jobs.
Even the war is bullshit and we shouldn’t be there, I do have the up most respect for anyone over there fighting…
How much has it pumped into our economy?
Don’t forget that most of that money is going to US citizens through MOOG, Servotronics, etc, etc, etc.
Not to mention the service men and women.

Most of the world now hates Americans
The US dollar is down…worth less than the Canadian Dollar, Euro and many others
No health Care for 40% of the citizens
Business are moving out over seas where labor is cheap
Cost of living going up…

I have respect for the soldiers, not for the war.
If we’d just steal there oil, this war could have a 1 year payback…
We are stealing their oil. I was on a ship for 6 months guarding the Mina al bakr oil terminal in the middle of the Persian Gulf. The only ships we let come in that place were american. We’re jacking the hell out of them.

I am sure we are there to steal the oil but the American people will NEVER see a dime or less of a fuel cost…and not to mention Bush and his family are “oil” investors so why should they give a shit if oil price goes up? They dont because they are aways making money.

“we” aren’t stealing, Haliburton is “helping” them to refine it so they can make their money selling it to Exxon and give the rest of Europe and the Western world a few cents off a gallon. You really gotta feel for the Europeans, they are paying what equates to almost $5 per liter for gasoline.
