I’m not trying to be a dick, I’m just curious - maybe describe some of the value so its justifiable.

996 never went up like the other pcars.
it books in excellent perfect condition for 33, and on auto trader’s actual examples of cars for sale, it would MAYBE fetch $38-40 if it had 30k or less miles. maybe $50-60k if it had 5000miles

I’m just saying, it WILL probably fetch more than book value, but when asking 50% more than what other comparable cars are selling for/being sold for, it should try to be justified WHY all these modifications make it worth that. no? idc rly, glws

this car has a lot of nice stuff… same car bone stock with no mods and like 20k more miles is low 30s

the better cars are going up and the worse cars and going down.

997 turbo will be the one to watch because it’s better and the last turbo with a manual. 997s are also what will push down 996tts.

walkers is really nice if you want the mods because if you buy a $30k beater example and mod it you’ll spend 20+ quickly so buying his is a no brainer.

I just want a 996 gt3 someday.

Regarding price - if he’s got full service history / all records, the car is worth around his asking price.

If he doesn’t, the car isn’t worth anywhere near that price.

That’s just how it works with Porsches.

I think these cars have stopped depreciating (correct me if I’m wrong) and people are starting to price in some appreciation.

No, they’re still depreciating rapidly. The only 996s worth any money are the GT2s and GT3s which have both stabilized around $55,000 - $65,000. They aren’t going up or down at the moment.

All the rest of the 996s are tanking, hard.

The air cooled cars have doubled in the last 3-4 years, even the horrific and unloved 964s are now fetching actual money (like $20,000 - there was a time you could have them for $10,000).

I’ve been a PCA member for 7 years, owned 8 Porsches - I keep a pretty close eye on the market for all P-Cars.
