didn’t die, only cause i didn’t mow… but i did get the car finished (for this week). Put the clutch in thursday evening, then yesterday I put on my subframe connectors and solid PS rack bushings… here.

Anyway apparently you are supposed to weld subframe connectors with the weight on the suspension sooooo:
Cleaning up…
After cleaning I used a floor jack to hold the connector in place against the body and welded it in place. Once I got them welded in solid enough so that they would not move or flex, I put the thing in the air to finish welding.
Welding these in was SO fucking tedious. I had to only do like 20 seconds then wait 5 minutes for it to cool (trying not to catch the carpet on fire here!!!). While I was waiting I threw these in:
Back to the fun stuff.

Then I primed them up so I could drive it yest (I was itchin).

I probably should’ve taped the underneath where I was priming, but I honestly don’t care. Got to put some miles on it last night too, which was my goal. Car is night and day different, both clutch wise and chassis feel. My car had so much cowl shake before it was sickening. Car feels much more solid now, and planted. The creak in the steering is finally gone (thats why I did the rack bushings) and believe it or not the steering feels much nicer now on initial turn in. Very happy overall, I’ve never had pre-fabbed metal parts fit as well as those Maximum Motorsports connectors. Highly recommended. Hopefully it clears up here in a bit so I can go get more miles!!

Good shit man, MM parts are fuckin top notch when it comes to quality and fittment. Ya pay a bit more, but its def worth it. How much you want to do my subframes??
dude if you bring me the car with no carpet it will be ALOT cheaper because I can actually run a longer bead. I was so afraid to burn it up, I got like 5-7 hours in these LOL. I had them mounted in a fucking hour!!! LOL.

Nah I used my buddies for the engine bay. I can do cosmetic welding, but I dont have enough experience nor do I trust myself to do any structural welding.
Looks real good, in a few weeks I’ll get a hold of you somehow, I’d like my front motor mount reinforced.
