Cobra replica build

This was posted on another forum I frequent and figured I would post it here. Guy does some amazing fab work. Hope it’s not a repotz.

Neat build, but of all the motors he could have picked from, a fucking 4.6???

Its a 4v lincoln motor. Pretty smooth motor, should make more than enough power in that kit car to kill yourself in short order…

this build is ridiculous. riveted by hand.

Now here’s where it gets funky, you may or may not know that these DOHC engines are prone to cooking the last two cylinders on the drivers side. well some manufacturers sell kits that will help with that problem. Because my car has no heater option, none of these kits work for me, so guess what I did?
Duh! I made my own

I don’t think I’ve ever been so motivated to do anything in my life

Well let’s start with a casualty report. Thurs. angle grinder died bought new cheap one (with the abuse they get from me good ones don’t last much longer). Fri. belt sander blew a bearing, fixed it with parts from broken angle grinder. Sun. melted hole in air hose will fix at work.

Great build, but just got to that part and this guy is my new hero. Really, how many people would tear apart their broken angle grinder to salvage parts to fix their belt sander.

This guy impresses me all the way with his work… If I ever had the time, space and $$ to do a project of that scope I’d love to…

same guy that builds his own roll bender with “left overs from a old pipe bending rig.”

Unbelievable! This makes me feel completely worthless with anything I’ve ever attempted or built automotive related…

It looks like he lives in Minnesota. I sent him a message to see whereabouts as I grew up there and will be there over Labor Day weekend…it’s a big state but if he’s within a few hour drive I’m going to check it out in person (pending his approval of course).

Great build. He has really good insight to a lot of things that plague builds like “how do I run these wires/lines…?”

I was just thinking how awesome it would be to run wires or even tubing/hoses through the tube chassis.
