alright im new to the site and all
i bought myself a 03 nissan altima 2.5S
and this thing is a beaut
i like the power is has behind the wheel and comfort
now i want to give it a little bit more HP to it
and a nice sound, but also would like to know which rims would be best
im looking at more of a 17inch Black Thick 5 Spoke for it
do you think it would be good?
and for adding HP what should i do?
i would go for atleast 19 if i were u. As for HP you can add intake, headers or catback system.
19? what size tires would that be ? because i dont wanna mess up my speedometer with the off balance of the wheels
any references to which air intake i should get?
Becareful with sizes greater than 18". Your ride will suffer at the expense of looking good. There are abundant of choices at eighteen’s with tire prices far more affordable than nineteen’s.
there is nothing wrong with running 19’s or even 20’s on your car…if you go 22’s then your speed will be off and it’ll need to be reconfig but as for 19’s you’re fine. I have 19’s on my car Tire Size:245/35-19 and there is not problem at all.
As for Intake go with Injen - it might be the loudest intake for Altima out there - but if you don’t want it to be too loud then go with fujita (thats what i have on my car)
Hey, take it from Shan he’s running 19’s right now. I’ve heard 19’s can put a bit of strain on ur suspension in terms of bearings and such but if you have them all maintained you should be fine. I was en-route to getting 19’s but the center bore on them were too small but i must admit they fill the wheel gaps a little better than 18’s. I’m running 18’s right now with 245/40/18 in the rear and 225/45/18 up front and have no issues at all.
17s are also nice on the alti. A few members are running aftermarket 17s and no issues there either, seeing as how the SEs came with stock 17s.
For more HP, you have options of quick bolt ons - Intake, headers, exhaust, lightweight pulley, and cams.
As per intake i’ve had the injen CAI and it was amazing, removed it come winter time (fear of hydrolock) but now i’m using my Berk V2 Short ram intake and it performs just as well. Noise-wise I find them to be very similar
