2004 350z

a bank rep just got one of these a month ago… well he threw me the keys and i took it for about 10 minutes through murrysville by the PPG plant…

damn, what a fun car. first off, i think those things have brembo brakes but i’m not sure, whatever they do have, they stop that thing in a second. it just stuck to the road on all the curves… it felt like it wanted to go faster than i pushed it but school is out and kids were in alot of the yards i drove by so i kept it reasonably safe. had plenty of space inside for 2… if you have the means i highly recommend you pick one up. :bigthumb:

i heard there not that fast …but i do agree they are nice looking cars

it’s not a quarte mile car to begin with but it’s quick enough, hot looking, and handled sweet. :hsdance: i’d take one

they sure are sweet!!!

his was an auto, but you can slide the shifter over and manually shift too. pretty sweet addition… i mean you can throw it in auto for drivin around, but manually shift when you want to get on it.

they r pretty sweet cars. stock, i think they look ok, but with a set of nice rims they look alot better. there were these 2 highly modified ones that came out to Star City’s cruise on sunday. one had twin turbo and the other supercharged. they were crazy.

It’s a nice car, but I have some complaints about it… I’ve 3 Z’s includng two 84’s and a 95TT…

  • shitty cheap interior: it just doesn’t fit, the gauge colors are wrong, it feels cheap center console, loses the smooth look of the vehicle
  • 6 speed tranny: coming from a 5 to 6 speed tranny I was not sure what to expect, but it felt really weird, it felt like it was geared way too low, I mean hell wtf is first for when second feels just as strong. Maybe it’s me, just seems like there was not much of advantage to the 6 speed.
  • Engine: feels a bit weak/straning/odd could be related to tranny

All in all it’s a great car, would I trade my 95 in for one? No, I feel they are going for the low cost market segment for a sports car, this is great for the company but not what I am typically looking for. Maybe a supercharged edition with a bit better interior will come out soon enough.

There were a ton of those at Watkin’s Glen this past weekend, and they sure weren’t slow. All were prepped, so I guess that’s expected, but they sure were tearing it up against the likes of the Mini CooperS, SRT4, RSX, etc. I was pretty suprised…

I would expect it to beat all of those cars you listed stock.

ummmm don’t know about that roland… what about the almightly srt4???

:kekegay:

True, but when you’re beating race prepped cars that can run boost, well, you’re doing something…

They were’nt far of the factory prepped BMW 3series, either. Believe it or not, the BMWs sounded the best of them all. Cocaine silk might describe them…I expected the Porsche flat 6s to sound good, but they didn’t. The BMW 6s and the Ferrari 8s were the best sounding engines of the day…

he was talking about bolting on a turbo (which i think really work well on the new z’s), but really, for driving to and from appointments for work that’s just a waste of money.

truthfully i never realized how much an expensive break set up improves a car. i mean that thing stuck pretty good, but when i did want to slow down (mostly b/c it wasn’t my car and why chance a dent) it really grabbed

The brakes on the new Z’s are really awesome… VERY VERY responsive, but so is the steering and handling…

I just feel it’s a bit underpowered compared to the other Z’s, it doesn’t feel right or something just feels out of place, I can’t name it hence my tentative post earlier… Something just doesn’t feel right…

Supercharger’s seem to be leading the market for addon power with little to no trouble.
