Ordered an 05 Mustang GT about 6 weeks ago, still dont even have a VIN and production on 05’s ends soon. So I went and test drove a 350z today. Now Im really torn between the two. The z is a couple grand more expensive, but I could get it this week. The GT, I dont know if I’ll even get this year, and if I have to wait on an 06, it may cost a little more anyhow.
Which would you pick and why?

i remember watching the Top Gear on the 350Z, it was said to be kinda cheap and plasticy inside along with some rattles. Although, Fords rattle too. In my opinion i think that the Mustang has come a long was and it may not be as totally refined as some of your other options in that price range, it has made some major advancements. For example, the gauge cluster that you can customize your colors for. i think that would be a neat option for not having to keep staring at the same old cluster, day after day.
I’m a roadcourse/autox sort of guy, so i’d go with the 350Z. Mine would have the brembo package for sure, you’d never run out of brakes at a lap event with those. There isin’t a whole heck of a lot of difference between the two as far as acceleration goes, so it’s not as if it’d be totally embaressed at the drag strip. I also prefer a 2 seater with the convienent hatchback.

i would go with the 350Z. and if im not mistaken i think this year they have an anniversery addition coming out which is rated at 300HP and 290TQ but only comes in yellow
I am WAY partial but I’d get the Z!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. I have had no problems whatsoever w/ rattles in the interior, no probs w/ feathering. Only thing I had a prob w/ (aside from spending WAY too much money on mods lol) is the pass side window motor crapped out, but it was covered under warranty. But when it comes right down to it, it’s all your decision…if ya have any questions I can help out w/ pm me or email me! I`d go with the 350Z
Styling is better, Gets better gas mileage (not by much) Also overall smaller car, which is better for parking
Stang: has slightly more HP/TQ, but also weighs more, I’ve never been in a Z, but the mustang interior is nice, (but some things seem cheap, like the ebrake handle, i think the interior of my GF’s 04 jetta is better)
Also the new mustang seems too trendy
The Z has been around a few years now and I’ve seen a handful of them on the street
Get the 350Z. The new Mudstains are just gh3y. Ford still has yet to put out a non-SVT mustang that can run w/ the LS1s. And the look is just so trendy and “metro/homo-sexual.”
So find a nice 350 w/ whatever package it is that has those nice brakes and AutoX the fuck out of it! :bigthumb:
I know the stangs are hard to come by. We just got our first 5 speed GT in at work the other day and it was already sold. Most of the GTs last a couple days then they are sold.
