Haven’t seen a dedicated 2015 'stang thread yet, so here it is.
Allegedly it will be 400 lbs lighter, 12" shorter length, and 6.5" narrower. Oh yeah, that whole independent rear suspension thing too.

There has always been a strong horsepower war in Detroit between Chevy and Ford, duh, no news here. But, a recent trend has been getting my attention…
We’ll start in at the 2010 LL when the “old” 4.6l 2010 Mustang GT is bested by the then new 2010 Camaro SS:
At the 2011 LL the new 5.0l 2011 Mustang GT beats the Camaro’s time:

Also in 2011 MT tested with the new Mustang GT equaled the M3 on lap times, and the Boss 302 Laguna Seca beat the M3:

At the 2012 LL the Mustang Laguna Seca drives that point home even further (as it beats the M3 and Cayman R):
At the 2013 LL the Camaro SS 1LE beats the Laguna Seca’s time, and is close to the GT500, which is in turn beat by the ZL1:

Also in 2013 MT tested a 1LE and beat up a GT Track Pack, because Ford was too scared offer up a Boss 302 for sacrifice:
For 2014 the Z/28 will obviously be extremely fast:

When your author asked Oppenheiser (Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer of the Camaro program) whether there is a driving principle that keeps him and his team on constant watch, he eloquently replied, “Yeah, to beat the shit out of anything Ford puts on the road. And that goes for the whole company from top to bottom.”
Oh, are these guys relevant?

Cliff notes:
These things actually can turn now.
Camaro turns more betterer.
Mustang will be on a diet, and should turn more bestest.
I don’t care what it looks like, and actually would prefer a base model with a “track” package for price-point and V6 weight. Don’t see a handling war trickling down though…
magazine racing is always free.
