dudes forget school, become a professional drifter and make 6 figures
dudes forget school, become a professional drifter and make 6 figures
its a bit easier to do that when your dad owns a tuning factory
Are these things independent-rear-suspension? Cuz I remember the SVT
Cobras (98 forward I believe) were while the rest were solid axles.
I’mm too lazy to look it up on the interweb.
this stangs looks sick!!!
the new stangs are solid axle.
i was reading that this things 12 sec cars out of the box.
well…the GT is a 14 second car.
american muscle hehe
those “tire tread” sport stripes are pretty f-ugly
the new GT is easyily a 13 second car, with a tire and a experenced driver 12 second times would be no problem. My Dads 03 Mach 1 went 12.8 with nothing but nitto drag radials.
with the right drivers these american muscle cars are definitely going to give the ol 240s a run for their money.
I just wish they had updated the rear-axle
Right now that car’s headlights are more advanced than it’s rear suspension!!!
I’m not a huge fan of Ford, and i’m not sure how this car’s reliability will hold up, but that said…
It’s nice to see a NEW sports car, that actually LOOKS GOOD, and is fast. :thumleft:
Interesting debate…
Is a mustang a sports car?
I say no due to it’s not very sports car like handling.
(i’ve only driven the previous 3 generations, but reviews and the fact it kept the solid rear axle speak for themselves)
It’s a muscle car for sure.
so your dad ran the time of a SVT Cobra with a mustang mach 1?
the newer cobra’s are a little faster, but you can’t get them to hook. the indepent rear suspension on the cobras are weak and if you put like et streets on the back theres risk of breakage.
I say mustangs are for sure a sports car. Look at Saleen, they know how to make one handle.
that blonde has nice ta tas.
GT
Yes it has a solid rear axle
Well seing as it can keep up with other so called sports car I would say it can be called a sports car  I’d love to know which reviews you have been reading because all the reviews I have seen are saying this is the best mustang yet and the handling is head and shoulders above the old chassis. I think you should refrain from making grossly uninformed comments BTW as I’m always happy to point out, the AE86 has a solid rear axle.
i dunno who told u guys that solid axle cars cant handle well, but take a look at some of the best handleing american cars out there they all have solid axles, Camaro’s, firebirds, GRAND NATIONALS, all handle amazing, and dont srgue that they sont unless u have proof to back it up, the grand national was first built as a production car so they could race in nascar, then they got banned cuz they were destroying the v-8’s, firbird-camaro-trans am are all used in racing series as well!!!
mustangs can handle well around corners with the right suspenion setup, they new mustangs i thought were Indepandant rear suspentions, oh well i guess im wrong, personally i think that a solid rear axle is is far superior than an I R S, ive had my ass handed to me around corners by my EX-bosses Grand National, he could take corners effortlessly that made my car cry for its mommy!!
so i dont think a solid axle was a bad choice on the part of the engineers at ford
AND yes its a goddamn sports car, any body who thinks other wise is a bafoon
To be fair…
Nascar doesn’t require handling…
That’s why you DON’T see solid rear axles in any OTHER kinds of racing…
It was simply a cost saving measure. They’ve put a lot of effort of course into making it not as craptastic as it should be…
I guess I’m a bUffoon
For comparison…
New Msutang 300-ft skidpad test from C&D: 0.87g
FWD Cars but better handling:
Nissan Spec-V: 0.88g
MazdaSpeed Protege: 0.88g
RWD will always have the handling advantage over FWD cars in that kind of test… yet the Mustang’s OLD suspension setup shows it’s limits.
the mustang still has a solid rear axle, but its been uipdated signifactly, and from what ive read the hadnling doesnt een compare to the prvious generation (its much better)
