2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4

Jim you should just dump this car in the Hudson and start fresh :hug

I need to decide if I am going to jump on the E85 bandwagon now…

1100cc or 2150cc injectors??? FML…

DO ETTTT!!!

e85 mo fucka

I’m torn on the whole E85 thing… I could easily buy an external pump and sump the tank, but I’m not sure if I would really run E85 in the car.

E85:
The good:

The power is there whenever I want it. Smash the gas and go.

The bad:

Driving out of the way to get to E85 stations.
7-10mpg and having a 12 gallon tank chugs horse cock.
More money to upgrade fuel system.

Pump/Race: The good: Get gas anywhere. 27mpg hwy. Car will still beat most of the shit I run into on the street. Leaded fuel smells delicious.

The bad:
$9/gal when I want to go fast.
I want to go fast a lot. (1/3 tanks I fill are leaded 112)

I guess what it comes down to is…

Is it worth it to spend more money on the fuel system, and pissing myself off over finding E85, just to be able to have a few more hp’s in the street?

cant you run 2 tunes? pump and e85?

12 gallon tank? Get a 93 tune and an e85 tune, seems to be the best of all of the worlds (power, convenience, fuel economy). Seems like the biggest disadvantage would be the upfront $$ but after that I think the choice is clear.

I have a 10.8 gallon tank so I’d be in the same boat as you if I ever dump $$ into the motor (e85 all the time is out of the question).

I got about 18 mpg on E85 around town and highway as long as i was decent to her. 16 gallons lasted me 350+ miles. You shouldnt need to do the lines from the tank or anything really, i didnt have to and we have the same stuff pretty much. Also, do you use the diablo predator for your tuning?

easy solution, have mikey fill your propane tank for the apartment with c16 for the summer so you can fill up at the house.

1.emtpy propane tank at apartment
2.have miky fill it with c16 for the summer
3.fill your car with c16 all the time
4.???
5. profit!

I can… but at that point why not do a pump and race gas tune? C16 is a much higher octane than E85, that means moar powah!

I cant baby around in my car like a grandpa. I don’t drive it much, but when I do, I put the hammer down. I get about 14 city / 27 highway on pump. I have to do a pump that will move more volume, -8 Feed, -6 Return, new FPR, and fuel rail. Current fuel system with bigger injectors will support 600whp. If I run E85 with my current fueling, I will make less power than I can on pump.

Yes.

Fair enough. Your diablo and hold multiple tunes. Upgrade fuel system, save tunes fot E85,93 and c16. Can change em whenever you want, thats whay i do.

Yes, but will upgrading the fuel system be worth it just to be capable of running E85? That’s really what I’m hung up on…

Injectors: $200 more than ones I can use for pump
Fuel rail: $200
Sump: $200
Pump: $300
FPR: $200
Misc lines and fittings: $200

Figure an extra $12-1500 to run a fuel that I’m not too sure if I will use often… If E85 was at a majority of gas stations, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Hey Jim here is a list of E85 stations starting in range from Clifton Park. (there are a few others also but aren’t open to the public they are for govt/official use only.

The closest E85 station is about a 15 minute drive, it’s by northern lights.

Let’s say I want to go to elliots house and need gas. My 15 minute drive there just became 45 minutes because I had to drive 15 minutes in the complete opposite direction to get gas. Now factor in between all that driving I just burned 1/3 tank of gas just to fill my tank. I think shit like that will piss me off every time it happens…

Can you get a 55 gallon drum to keep in your garage?

E85 does not keep well for very long.

Jim,

I asssume they will keep popping up E85 stations, eventually one will hit you closer.

Closest for me is like Wolf Road, so I feel your pain.

I would just have a tune for both. You can run 93 or e85. As long as you have a programmer just switch tunes and put 10 dollars worth of 93 to get where you want to go

Bingo ^

want a god damn tissue ? stop acting like a bitch lolol
