2004 STI mild build

oops sry, thought that was mikey in the reflection, just realize it was you

That’s actually pretty cool.

Decided to take the Subaru usefulness a step further. Not having a truck has been a little bit of a pain since the only time I could use a trailer for any purpose (moving my bike, my sled, the mower, etc) was when I had access to the wifey’s Jeep. So I decided to remedy that problem…

Its a limited tow capacity, but plenty for small projects. Now I just gotta try to find a small 4x8 or 5x10 trailer.

offroadzj does some of the best electronic installs i have ever seen and its been proven a thousand times. looks good bud!

Did an audio system overhaul today with thanks for JSEnclosures for an awesome box. Had to modify it slightly for the sub (gave him an older model for fitment purposes and apparently the newer model was slightly different). Made the amp-rack myself which doubles as a storage compartment “wall” to help keep my extra meth and washer fluid from bouncing around the trunk. The cap is an old one I had laying around… mostly being used as a distribution block b/c the 1/0 awg wire wouldn’t quite reach to the amp… but having the cap won’t hurt either. Definitely came out better than I expected and I’m very happy with it!!! Thanks again for the great box!
Now for the pics:
Cap and ground distribution block. On the side of the box behind the “wall” so its 100% out of sight.

Without changing any of the settings this box is at least twice as loud and much better sound quality than the generic tiny box I had in there before.

nice work you have been doing , i like to see that care taken , nice job .

Why do people put the horns right there to be seen , why not hide them. Ive never understood the point of highlighting the horns.Subaru thing ? I dont get it .

I still have to get around to powdercoating them either black or blue… not sure which yet. I mounted them there because that is where they will have the most affect since nothing will block the sound waves coming out. Not sure why others do it.

also how would or does a sti do with a snowmobile trailer loaded with two sleds??

understood with the sound . do they offer the horns in black .

No, but the covers come off very easily. As far as towing 2 sleds, I probably wouldn’t go very far if I was. It towed the dual trailer and single sled fine around the driveway, and towed a single trailer with 1 sled very well from Messena, NY (up by Potsdam/Canadian border) to Albany… even blew through a little meth on the way home for the fun of it… lol

Quick Little mod yesterday. I had to bake and pull my headlights apart to reseal them so I decided that while I had them apart, I might as well black out the bezel… so I did. Nothing much, but it cleans it up a bit.

looks great. One of the best, subtle, and cheapest mods you can do

now you just need to find that uber rare jdm fog shroud and fix your lip :lol

I found them on japanparts but i dont want to order them until i know te fmic will clear the jdm fogs

What fmic kit are you looking at?

I picked up the one of Kavik on Unysoc. The core is good and I just have to either “un-modify” the piping that was modified to fit a rotated turbo; or pick up a new piping kit from SSAutoChrome.

The only kits I know of that work with the jdm foglights are the APS and TurboXS kits.

i thought the ssac was a rip off of turboxs? so it should fit if it is really a copy.

Oh there’s those pesky supertones again. Aliens in disguise just waiting to take over the planet :shifty :ninja

Car looks good though. Needs more mud.

The only way its seeing more mud is if it gets forester springs… and that’s probably not going to happen. Getting it muddy right now would get very expensive, very quick… lol. I’m already looking at at least $80 for the fog covers (+shipping from Japan; not going with overnight though lol) and the cost of the 2 or 3 bumper clips that broke.
