2004 sti part out/sale

injector load settings sound like they were spot on… whats the mpg like now? i have 630cc’s and a 255lph pump and still get over 30mpg doing 70 with the cruise control on.

Do you have a WB02 now to atleast see that? I never let anyone tune my car.

uhh no… far from spot on. the first pull on moons dyno registered an afr somewhere in the 8:1 afr range at cruise!.. right now AFTER the tune i have a 15:1 afr @ cruise and 11.2:1 at wot… im getting 265-280 miles per tank now where before i would be lucky to get 140. it was getting so much fuel it had a rich misfire… i will cross post what seth at moon performance said on rspeed… 1 second.

as posted by my tuner…

Well i guess i may as well chime in whilst i recover from a buscher induced migraine. LOL. Anyways, yesterday afternoon, i prepped the rom for the tune and found the injector size to be off, fixing that and bat offset, instantly cleared out the misfire and the car stopped consuming fuel like it was. I think travis got about 8 mpg on the trip up here, i have done numerous pulls and have only used an 1.8th tank now! trav, youll be psyched about that if nothing else. Motor sounds wonderful, no noise at all that i usually associate with forged pistons ( i know i have forged cp’s in the shop car and they irritate me to say the least) there are some roadblocks to moster power at this point, but as travis mentioned, its all going to come together down the line. i would do a monster topmount, or a front mount, tgv deletes and at least water injection, i think byrons sti put down 358 or 368 whp (corrected) on 23-24 psi and spraying water only. so standing at 328 (corrected) at 22 - 22.5 psi with no water on the stock topmount is pretty decent in my book. i think when i get the couple repaired/replaced and some good strong clamps, travis is goign to end up with a damn consistent and amusing car to get through the winter with, although it might need some snow tires for sure!

on a side note, i would definately have to lean towards severe over fueling as being the potential destructive force with the old block, if we are lucky we got it before it did any damage this time around, def goign to get at least a second oil change post tune.

teh end

EXACTLY what I run even with the meth.

if you are at 11.2:1 on the meth you are leaviing a BUTTLOAD on the table… you can lean it out AT LEAST one full afr point and still be safe due to the cooling properties. dooo itttt.

Yeah Shawn…listen to the guy who’s on his 2nd motor and hasn’t tuned anything beyond a Huffy :haha :bowdown :banana :stfu :lol

Hah. Harsh.

Anyhow, I choose to leave the power on the table. The meth is ONLY for safety (peace of mind).

The safety mentality is the best approach. Too many people want to run on the ragged edge, most of them are the guys who cannot afford to break and when they do its shock, dismay and finger pointing.

I never understood that either. I’ve made over 50 runs on the dyno and leaning the car out from 11.0 to 11.5 didn’t yield that much gains at all to warrant the risk so I’d rather not even push it. Let the boost do the work.

meh fair enough.

You really should try to ebay it, Built lightnings with 15k motors go for the same as a fresh stock one, just bc you put all that money in it doesnt mean your gonna get it back. This is why there bad investments

Correct. The only cars your are going to MAKE $$ or break even are muscle cars. I sold my '69 Mach 1 for almost $30k and it was in 1000 pieces. A nice stock car will bring as much or more than similar modded one due to the fact that alot of the modded ones are not done right.

i dont know if any of you can read but i posted in this thread that im KEEPING THE CAR

you should just keep the car

yeah keep it ;D

i was being sarcastic about the fueling… atleast its fixed now. what size injectors are they anyway?

850cc

Keep it!

+1 for keeping it!
