CAR IS SOLD
Thanks Evan
Here’s what happened. My wife lost her job  and my plan was to buy this car, fix the little things it needed and sell my current DD. Money from that would then go towards student loans. But after towing it home and eventually taking it for a longer test drive then before, I found out there’s a problem with the transmission  (moves when cold but does not move when warm). Ive heard that the tranny is shot but have also heard that it could be the tranny solenoid. Either way thats the big issue. I would continue to dig deeper into this BUT we just found out that we are expecting . SO needless to say I have no time for a winter project since the babies room and house come first. If its not sold Ill work on it some time next spring when I have a “free” chance but I’d/she’d rather have it gone.
The car came from California and the woman bought it with 45,xxx miles per the title.
Model is a LX
Exterior comments:
Overall the paint needs some work. Im sure a nice buff job would bring back some life but lets face it, it has 172k on it. There’s marks.
No Honda rot in the rear.
Trunk has a dent but shuts and opens just fine.
The headlights are foggy but could be buffed to look new again.
The hood has a key mark on it if you cant see it from the pics. The bumper also has some larger then normal marks.
Brakes felt fine while I was on the drive but as cheep as pads and rotors are, I was just going to replace them.
When towing I noticed the passenger hook under neath was bent a little. Im guessing she ran something over due to that and the plastic fender guard missing
Interior comments:
I cleaned the inside and replaced the trunk/gas door cable with the OEM cable from the dealer.
The passenger floor mat is there but I tossed the drivers since it was shot.
Overall the carpet looks good, but since the drivers floor mat had a hole that area is brown.
The hood cable works but the handle you grab is missing, so pliers are included with the car. Its an easy fix and the parts is about $10-15 from Honda but for a DD I wasn’t going to replace it.
In the lowest condition KBB allows with mechanical and body issues they put it at $3200…which is way too high IMO
In the lowest condition Edmunds allows with mechanical and body issues they put it at $1700…which is probably normal but due to the tranny issue etc my price is lower.
