My most missed part about moving cross country… (yea I know the riding out here is way better but its out of my price range these days)

What’s next?

Looking to sell my boat next and move up to something in the 20-22’ range with a big V8.

You will have to post back when it sells. I am shocked that it’s worth near $4000 with almost 7k miles on it. I would have valued my 07’ renegade x 600sdi with 7k miles far less than that. I thought $3500 was on the high end when I bought it with 3200 miles

Between all the new parts, including a $600 track and looking at prices for SDI’s here and in Syracuse I think the price is fair.

At the new $3600 listed on C-list this is a really good deal. I would jump on this if I didn’t buy one a month ago. I paid $3200 for mine with 5k on it and it needed new bearings and sliders. With the track and suspension on this one it’s a great buy for someone.

Thanks for bumping this. Forgot I had it listed here when I dropped the price on CL. Updated here as well.

V8 boats

Saw a nice Baja Islander with a 7.4 big block that did 72mph on radar. That’s a little more power than I was thinking considering I was looking for something in the 20-22’ range with a 350mag but I’m a firm believer in the “you can never have too much power” mantra. It’s a lot easier to just pull that throttle back a little than add more HP later on.

Truth… Although I use my v8 for the opposite (low-end power for big wake), I agree that moar power==moar gooder.

You can also re-prop it to dial down the top-end speed.

I came to the realization last year that 40mph is plenty, and the number of times I was at the speed were precisely 4, and not for very long. We were out on the boat a good 20 times last season. Going “fast” in a boat just gets tiring. We probably spent more time at 20-25. At that, I probably gassed up every 3rd-4th weekend (70 gal tank).

Few years from now when I step up to a 32-34, I’ll likely stay with twin small blocks rather than big blocks.

Yeah, I have very little interest in stepping up to more power for more top speed. My 18’ Chaparral with the 3.0 with a light load will do 45-48 GPS depending on conditions and I rarely find the need to go that fast. Where I want more power is when we’re taking 6-7 people with us and still want to do watersports. That 3.0 is a dog out of the hole with a loaded boat.

I suppose that’s the one situation where mine is a bit short. If I’m loaded with more than a few of my fat friends, I have a tough time getting moving. Then again, we don’t ski/board, so it’s not a huge deal. Planing is tough, but I’m putting a set of tabs on before it goes back in, so that won’t be an issue any more.

Not that I think you’ll have any issues with 7.4L, but you can always play with the props.

I can put about 3,500lbs of ballast or people in my boat and get on plane with a wakeboarder… can’t break 40mph though. That’s with an 350 SBC based motor probably in the 350hp range, with a V Drive Inboard drivetrain.

Price drop bump. $3300

I’ve had zero luck selling my sled. I think people have already chalked up this season as a lost cause.

Yeah, this is as low as I’ll go. If it doesn’t sell here I’ll toss it back in storage and sell it next year when ElNino is gone and we actually get snow.

Yup. 2016 = 0 miles.

Saw this on Craigslist, I think the miles were what concerned me. Never had one with that many miles but it seems to be very well sorted and taken care of. Been casually looking for a Rev. Love the wood jig.

Hmmmmm. I’ll have to run it by my parent’s to see if I could keep it there as I am somewhat tight on space at my house. I wouldn’t need the helmet or jacket but I do need a single place trailer to move it around.
