2011-2012 Snowmobile Season

The grizzly 700 is pimp. Plenty of nuts, if you want more power you can find raptor parts all day for them. 4 wheel drive with the diff lock and its a beast. I’ve put 300 miles on it this seaon. With the IRS rear its smooth and comfortable to ride 2 people.

Yeah except that if you don’t have a bunch of land of your own it’s hard to find a place to ride. I think there are some public trails in or near tug hill but that’s about it.

nyspeed sled meet is now nyspeed quad meet.

I’ve been riding the sled trails on the wheeler.

Do the trail/land owners know this? We have 150 acres in the Southern Tier that we made them de-mark for snowmobiles because some assholes came in on 4-wheelers and ripped it all up. Only my family is allowed to do that.

the trails go through kuntryquest’s land i believe.

in pendleton a good portion of the sled trails are shared by the atv trails, which is part of why they suck so much. you do however have to know which trails are which to stay off the ones that are strictly sled trails.

i believe there are some marked atv trails out between medina and brockport, and out towards dansville there are some that an atv club has been riding, saw some posts about it on facebook from one of the other race teams that races grass drags. anytime ive rode in the southern teir was with some friends at property they had, and they always had trails shared on their property and the neighbors properties that were all interconnected…

trail support for quads def sucks. unless you go to pa. lol

Infact they do. No one minds around me due to the fact I know to avoid winter wheat. Witch is the only crop that will be growing right now. With they way last spring was almost everyone went out of rotation and did corn.

Not sure where you live but large quantities of land around here aren’t put up for sale that often and when they are it’s extremely expensive.

Mayberry obv.
All the farmers know each other and when I do ride its usually all off us toghther.
Your right, there is a chunk of land forsale that borders mine and its all wetlands, the guy wants commercial price for it.

Getting more snow than they originally predicted. Colden and Shawnee Sno Chiefs opened up tonight. Hoping the lake effect kicks up like predicted tonight and several more open by tomorrow.

Heading to Chautauqua tomorrow if everyone opens up.

actually about 5 in here now.

Colden opened up:

That’s at Sprauge Brook park. Conditions are terrible. Hardly any snow in the fields, ground is frozen and very bumpy. Could use a few more inches of snow.

Yeah I am seeing that a lot of places may have got 5 inches of snow already.

We only have 3.5 as of like 30 mins ago but it’s snowing pretty hard and I think Monroe, Wayne and Ontario counties are supposed to get a pretty decent amount. Hoping some of the trails around me open up. If a couple connecting clubs open up it might be worth a drive for you Buffalo guys.

I don’t know how the trails are open in the northtowns. We got 4-5 inches or so and when I was out on the airstrip out back one pass and it was down to grass…this stuff is really light

^ I don’t know how they are open in my neck of the woods (south 20a). Me and the chick went out today. Rode out to Sprauge brook and rode around there for a while. It wasn’t too bad heading out, but coming back sucked. Water holes had opened up, lots more traffic beat things down pretty good.

At least she got to put some miles on her new sled!

I rode mine for the first time today on the Hilton Sno Flyer and Salmon Creek trails out by Brockport. Some area’s were alright but a lot of the fields were bare and there were a ton of mud holes and some really really rough areas.

Muddy aftermath lol

Went out to get gas, hit the tunnel under the threw way. Trails sucked for either. Random spots breaking threw the ice blah

Im glad trails suck. I’m still hunting down my high idle issue. Checked rotary timing, fresh gas, carbs cleaned again and again. The only thing I have found is the needle jet was bent at the tip. Primer will bring idle back down, after a few seconds it climbs back up to 3000-3500. Everything is still pointing back to a air leak/lean condition. I can not find a leak. I’m at the point now to yell at it and stick it in the corner. Anyone have ideas?

Spray some starter fluid on any common leak points while it’s running, ie: crank seals, carb boots, base gasket, etc. If the rpm’s spike then there’s your air leak.
