Interesting. But you still can’t ride a fucking mountain bike there in the summer. I’d be down for this. If they have classes, I might even win…
well just got back from tug hill. was pretty good. had a good 2ft most areas. towards the south it was getting sparce but plenty of snow everywhere else. this weekend will be junk there but today was nice. got there around 930 am and left at 5pm. unloaded at the nice and easy in constableville, ate at flatrock, rode to a few other places. only did about 110 miles but im still happy. finally got out for a good ride this year lol.
and yes i would be interested in the hillclimbs lol.
took a couple photos with my phone but not much.
typical ploaris fusion lol
We were considering going this weekend but there were just too many negatives outweighing the positives. Looks like my last ride may be the hillclimb.
Great MPGs, light, good power, so much better than any other 600 out there, that’s why they hold their value so well.
hmm…they sure do have some interesting rules for that sanction. i was expecting black jack to be hosting this event. (actually black jack does not have an event this weekend, so i would expect some of those guys to cross over and run this one, but most would probably be in pro classes. atleast the guys i know that run that series, esp since those are the money classes)
my sled would be in the trail super stock class, and i would be given a 1.5 sled advantage according to their rules. i could have quite the advantage, however the rules say nothing about porting or other motor work aside from bolt ons and compression. which means i could potentially be against an 800ho that is pushed as far as itll go on pump gas, which nets ~190+hp. this really seems to be rules based on discretion of the tech. fawk.
im going to talk to some of my buddies that run the black jack series and see if theyve ran this series before and what its all about.
From the rules:
-Chest Protectors Are Mandatory. (Tek-Vest style in Pro classes)
Not sure how many of you trail riders have chest protectors. I know I don’t.
i have a check protector. i keep it with my pocket protector.
i have a tek vest and can get ahold of a second one if someone would need to borrow one, but i think theyre only medium/large. these events usually allow a mx style chest protector as well
Maybe someone from the Zombie Defense thread has a Kevlar we could borrow?
I have a Tek Vest. Better safe than sorry.
Fixed.
The SHCRA website says Tek Vests in Pro class only. I am assuming that everyday Joe’s like me will not need one, just an approved helmet. Let me know your take on it.
damn i’m guessing i’d be getting thrown into the pro mod class. lol
Screw the hood shut.
tek vests are required for pro classes, but you need a regular mx style chest protector as a minimum in the stock classes. you will also need a working tether kill switch if you dont have one. (fyi, cat makes one that plugs in at your keyswitch so you dont need to splice anything)
i imagine you would run the sno x stock trophy and be indexed to offset having the f7 motor as the chassis and motor are still stock.
and the response on facebook that i recieved from a friend that has ran one of this organization’s events:
“I ran one race this year. It’s stock I swear. OK your good to go. That about sums it up. I’m gonna try to make that if I’m not broke by then.”
basically their tech isnt that great, sounds alot like how perry was when they ran grass drags there. pretty backyard ish.
one of his sleds. this one was built strictly for hillclimbs, doesnt get switched over to grass like the other one. this guy runs on the good stuff. if you decide to run a pro(money) class, dont think about going into an improved/mod. lol.
I’m not sure how there is confusion on a simple statement like: “-Chest Protectors Are Mandatory. (Tek-Vest style in Pro classes)”
But anyway, yes, chest protectors are mandatory for all classes. Step up to pro and you need a Tek-Vest style one, what ever that is.
English mother fucker… do you speak it?
Derek,
Can you explain a little more what this hill climb racing will actually entail? Like what could we expect when we show up. (if there is snow lol)
There will be no making of snow at kb this late. I talked to management there and they said they will either move snow from other parts of the area or you will run on mud. Kb runs that area on less than a shoe string budget, making snow is totally out of the question at this point.
did not know that…if were running on mud i aint going lol
