You know, now that I think about it, I remember reading somewhere that the Coyote’s production intake manifold will be plastic (the prototype intakes were done in aluminum for some reason that escapes me), so it’s entirely possible that those “runners” are simply part of the engine cover. Someone I trust told me that someone “supposedly in the know” said that was the case, but I’ve heard no confirmation of that hearsay.

So is this the one that is supposed to have the IRS or what? Power is useless with that live axle.

Ultradriver all I posted all of the specs and info leaked by ford so far last week in the original thread here. Its supposed to be a aluminum block 32valve 5 liter with 412 hp 395torque with a new 6 speed transmission.:burnout:

Nice. good to see Ford finally stepping up for some respectable figures from their GT. Reading up on some of the engineering that went into that Coyote V8, should be an impressive motor. Forged crank and rods too. I’m sure it’ll handle a good amount of boost. :tup:

I like to go around corners. Straight lines are fun… the first few times. Its just not my thing.

Don’t get me wrong… I’m still going to build my foxbody. I’d just rather have a car that I can take corners with as well as it will go straight.

I’m surprised that the new motor will have 11:1 compression, the 3V 4.6L has 9.8:1 and will take 10 pounds of boost all day.

Is the new engine direct injection?
