you don’t have to hyper mile a vette to get good mileage. A proper intake/exhaust and a good tune will net you over 35mpg. Hell my pig of a T/A got 31-34 (headlights up 31) on it’s 1000 mile journey home.
Hence the point about “any car properly set up and driven can get good mileage”.
Yes sir. Didn’t mean to come off harsh if i did. Stupid internet shows no emotions…
GM does a better job of aerodynamics, by far. Corvette’s are amazing in that regard…
but does it make it on tv? Im assuming no
My heads cam vette would manage 29+ mpg on road trips with 3.90 gears. It’ll be interesting to see what the new set up will do.
My car only really got 28 mpg highway but that might have been windows down or A/C on.
If I recall correctly, the early 80s F-bodies had some of the best aerodynamics found in any f-body.
but god are they ugly as sin
Mos def.
Late 2nd gen or 3rd gen?
3rd, sorry. Dunno why I stated it like that. Think about Knight Rider being more aerodynamic than any F-Body before or after.
this same topic just popped up in another mag we got in the other day, and it made me realizeeeee
the mustang is 5 and 9 grand cheaper than the comp, if you spend the same amount of money on the rip off gensis and 370Z, you could have a 5.0GT for STILL less money
“Here’s the real kicker: Our Nissan tester stickered for a whopping $9,000 more than the Mustang V6. At $34,605, the 370Z is also nearly $4,000 more than the $30,875 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8. This means that our third place Mustang verdict comes with a big old asterisk. We knew the Ford was punching above its weight, but we didn’t know exactly how much until we looked at the numbers. At $25,780 then, the 2011 Mustang V6 is something of a hero. Our point is this: if one were to pour $9,000 into a Mustang, not only would that tick nearly every single option box, but you would also get a 'Stang GT stuffed full of Ford’s righteous new 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 with 412 hp and 392 lb-ft. Gussied up in that garb, and complete with a set of Brembos, we strongly suspect the Mustang GT would wipe the floor with the Genesis Coupe 3.8 and wholly humble the winning Nissan 370Z. But alas, that’s another comparison.”
fuck this foreign shit sONNN
It’s about time for the GT  Hell, power to weight, the new 2011 GT will somewhat hang with a stock 2007-2009 GT500.
That is pretty damn nice, but still a semi-hefty price tag for what you get.
