2013/2014 Snowmobile Season

Group of us may be launching from my house tomorrow morning. Headed to Eden, East Eden, and Boston.

Your new place right on the trail?

About a half mile of road in any of three directions.

Being able to drive my sled out of my garage to the trail would be awesome.

Commuting all that distance every day, not so much.

That’s where I’m at. I live on Cary Rd, the trail is about 400 yards down the pipeline across the street, but someone has a posted sign (not filled out) and chicken wire across it. I have to travel 1.1 mi down the road to hit the trail.

Yes, opening my rear garage door and hopping on the trail in my backyard definitely has its perks. Right on the C4 trail in Alden by Broadway, only thing that sucks is when assholes get the trails near you closed. The Whistle Stop to Seven day Rd route is 2 miles down the road from me and now have to make a huge detour to head out that way.

Out riding in holland right. I guess you can say it’s a little cold…

How are the trails?

I remember years ago I went out with some buddies on a night very similar to this and it actually wasn’t too bad…except that my buddy bought one of those new fangled ski doo modular helmets and after a while he started veering all over the trail, jammed on the brakes, and pulled over with me almost hitting him. He was trying furiously to tear off his helmet like he had gotten a wasp or something in there. Guess the air vents that allow your hot breath to vent out the side so your visor doesn’t fog started to freeze up the moisture of each breath until they were plugged. Almost suffocated him.

Just went from strykersville through Holland out to Pratham Rd just past Sprague brook and it was awesome from the Valley on. I might hit Boston/Springville tomorrow or just wait til the storm hits early next week.

I rode the Pendleton trails from my house to the Marlboro today. Not bad for the north towns.

I was honestly surprised how good most of the trails were. I expected worse based on reactions I had heard.

Hit the Webster / Williamson trails again tonight. Got a late start but clicked off 30 miles. My roommate’s first time out this year.

-5* and my visor warmer wasn’t working so had to ride with the visor up.

We basically just went to the Flip and a short ride back. I was having major problems with my visor frosting up. Ordering a heated one today.

Conditions were surprisingly good. One REALLY bad cornfield on s45 just before the Flip.

Heated visors are the only way to go. Never had fogging issues no matter how cold.

Already got my tracking number. Should be here by Wednesday.

At Uncle Franks in Langford. Trails are pretty decent. No water / mud.

I’ve been out on tug hill since yesterday afternoon, 243 miles down so far. Some of the best riding I have ever experienced.

Who on here has the Air Force Arctic Cat? I think I may have seen you gassing up today early on around 11 or so

I do. Was juicing up mine and my buddy’s on the trailer at Sure Fine in Eden. Lotta guys were juicing up there. Put in about 100 miles. Trails outside Springville were the worst (go figure). I’m old and out of shape and going to feel it tomorrow.

I was gassing up in Tug when I saw it, all silver with blue decals/accents? Must not have been you hmm
