There is a trail that runs between factory and saunders hill. it breaks off in that field and comes up the dead end st across from the flip.
Good point. I forgot about that back area.
I also verified that it was open with the club today too because last year the land owner shut it down last yea and threatened to keep it shut down.
Damm its cold out.
Just what the doctor ordered. Need to freeze up the water holes out there. Looks like another big storm Sunday/Monday should really top off the shallow base we have right now.
I will say that when its cold like this my sled really wakes up. Once the pipe gets hot and its sucking the cold air you better hang on.
I’m really trying to get out tonight, but I have a family party that I totally forgot about and I’m doing my best to get out of it. I may just have to brave the traffic tomorrow to put some miles on.
Just tell them it’s too cold to go out tonight then don’t post all over facebook about going snowmobiling.
hahaha the issue is that it’s my gf’s family. She told me I didn’t have to go, but we all know how that shit goes…
That shit goes you go snowmobiling and deal with the consequences later. It’s WNY, this shit will all probably melt by next weekend.
Jay what way will you guys be coming through on way to the flip? Are you only riding to the flipside then back?
I don’t like riding alone especially the first time out.
EDIT:
Ok, NESS just opened so we’ll be starting in Clarence now. Still going to head to Flipside, still via S45C because of the closing of C4 in Alden. Have dinner then take a big loop through Folsom and Genesee back north of Clarence and back down.
What’s the updates of sno chiefs? The forum is dead and I hate how I would need Facebook for condition updates.
Where is the C4 closed in Alden? Marilla updated this morning that ALL their trails are open, including north of Clinton.
Trails are open, even north of Clinton. Use caution as there is a lot of drifting, and some bare spots in fields. Look out for washouts and ruts that will take time to fill in. If u see a problem in trails please let us know. The trail remains closed in alden between whistle stop and seven day rd. You can go across broadway by four rod and into northern Erie over to Darien state park and pick the trail back up.
Some assholes kept blowing a stop sign where the main corridor trail crossed a landowners’s driveway. After the landowner almost got t-boned he removed access and WNY lost a key corridor trail.
Also, that long re-route they suggested doesn’t work because C4B of NESS is closed because of a big flooded section near where it crosses Genesee. It’s because of that water hole that we’re probably back to the original plan of starting on S45C in Marilla again tonight.
^ Heard about that. Sucks these guys ruin it for everyone else.
So I’ve decided I will ride tonight, but I am headed to Springville and back later this afternoon. I doubt I’ll make it back to the Flipside in time, but I’ll catch the next one. I may go out tomorrow too depending on how tonight goes.
Here’s our proposed routes tonight.
Cyan is if the trails are good and we’re having fun.
Green is if the trails are OK and we’re starting to get beat up.
Yellow is if we don’t even get to Arcade and decide the trails suck and we want a really small loop home.
Jay, from what my friends told me, if you break trail at the yellow or green, you might miss some of the best trails. Colden, Boston, and Springville are the best, or so I’m being told. The yellow trail is the worst, but only up top in the corn fields where it’s bare from the wind.
