2013/2014 Snowmobile Season

Tri-County, Cherry Creek, Boston, Ashford and Southern Tier Snow drifters opened today.

Franklinville and Colden both updated as still closed.

Thanks for the info. Was just going to check into this.

Pioneer open as well. No updates from Folsom.

I saw that Folsom was closed last night, said they have some fields with no snow. Looks like most of the snow we have had yesterday/today stayed too far north. Colden updated as open, but with very little base.

Holland just opened as well.

From their FB page:

Well we told you we’d be ready next time, sorry we got caught with our “bibs down” with that early snow!

Trails are now open as limited, with one exception. Trail C4 from Sanders Rd. to Marilla Powerline is CLOSED pending a reroute.

Please remember we had a TON of rain. Please let us know either through Facebook or the Website of any downed trees or trail issues you may come across.

It’s not likely we will be grooming until we get more snow and the holes are able to freeze up.

Happy Trails!

We’re coming in early and skipping lunch on Friday so we can leave at 3 and dropping as far north as we can find open trails. Hoping today’s storm is enough for Folsom and Marilla to open, or get really lucky and have NESS open too.

The only problem with this snow we are getting is that it is super light and fluffy. It does not pack well for a base. I’m just hoping that we get enough that they can do something with it. I’m so ready to ride already.

Light and fluffy or not there are lots of clubs open and I’m seeing pretty good reports on conditions. Stop making excuses and go ride before we have another melt and it’s all closed.

I’m actually considering going out tonight. If anyone out in Holland wants to meet up, let me know.

Braaaaaap. The forecasted snow totals look pretty awesome.

Folsom just opened as limited. Also for anyone that cares, the trail from the Red Apple in Strykersville that leads back to C4A that takes you into Holland is reopened. This was one of the trails closed due to idiots using it when it was closed and also ripping through the guys lawn. This is the only trail to get to the gas station and back to Holland too.

Marilla is opening south of Clinton (Kwik Fill) tomorrow morning. No grooming going to be done on those 4 trails.

So what you are saying is you"ll still get all your nyspeed time in. Lol

 to Marilla opening since we have a private drop spot right where the trail starts off the 400.

I’m not even excited about getting out. Normally I would be leaving early and rushing to my parents house.

We’ll be heading for The Flipside for dinner if anyone wants to meet up.

Is that tomorrow Jay? I will most likely be out there since I will probably take a half day and ride after. My sled is literally 1 mile from the flipside.

Yeah tomorrow afternoon we’ll be leaving work at 3 and the sleds are 5 minutes away. Hoping to hit up Flipside around 6 but it’s really hard to nail down a time. I know we’ll be at our drop point by 4 but nailing down an exact time to arrive on a snowmobile is impossible. Want me to just call you when we get there?

Yeah, that’s fine with me. I may be out and about since I will be out at noon tomorrow. I’ll prob be dropping around the same time as you so let me know if you want to meet up earlier.

If you want to meet up earlier we’ll be starting where S45 starts at Jamison Rd and heading south from there. Unless NESS opens and then we’d start in Clarence. I seriously doubt they’ll be open by tomorrow afternoon though.

Downloaded the Polaris “Snow Trails” app (free) and did some testing on roads here and there. Seems to work well enough. Hope to get out this weekend and try it on the trails.

PS-Most of the southern tier trails appear to be open.

hmm Flipside. I might be in for that. Problem is the trail to the flip takes you up past 78 and back down. Unless im mistaken. Otherwise its either ride to factory then take the road 78/flipside. Or sanders then all the way down 78.

I hop on the trail right at sanders and hunters creek.
