~100 miles in 2 days…sucks the season started so good and now green grass everywhere
Put around 100 on opening day and they have left the trailer since.
Danger and I have done 105 so far between one night after work and that Tug Hill trip.
I feel like this is going to be like a massage without the happy ending. Big buildup just to be let down. Couple days of cold, then couple days of warm. Looks like its supposed to be cold this week but I hear nothing about major snow. Fuck this season. So sick of this shit.
I know what you mean but it’s still pretty early. I didn’t even get out for the first time until 12/27 last year I think. The forecast says it’s going to be seriously cold this week. At least that’s good for the ground to freeze up.

This is the little ones first sled. Since I have another girl on the way, I figured it would be safe to get the pink one:
Got about 60 miles total combined on both sleds. Was in Old Forge for snodeo, but didn’t get to ride much because my buddy’s sled wouldn’t start.
Are those 2 or 4 stroke? How do you like the Procross chassis? Magazines seem to give it overwhelmingly good reviews but I’ve seen complaining on FB from people in groups about the motors self destructing. Not that every manufacturer doesn’t have lemons.
The Orange one is an 800 2 Stroke and the Green one is an 1100 4 stroke (yamaha engine, ie: yamacat). I have never really had an issue or heard of many with an Arctic Cat engine. Other problems, yes, but the Suzuki platform has always been relatively bulletproof (can get 400 hp out of stock block on the turbo). Now that Arctic is manufacturing their own 2 stroke in the 600 this year, time will tell to see if there are any gremlins to work out, but so far it has performed very well.
Truthfully, this is my first year on a rider forward style chassis, before I rode the Firecat chassis or older ZR chassis, so going to this was, and still is, a learning curve. But I like the Procross much better, it’s comfortable in the bumps and turns very well. Just have to get that “topheavy” feeling out of my head, because it is very stable.
I’ve only had mine out in the field behind the house.
I have yet to ride mine. I’m hoping this is the week we will finally get some snow to stay for a while. I’m not going to hold my breathe, but I’m optimistic…
Nothing will be opening this week. The warm up we had over the weekend took out the little bit of base that was starting to build again. The 4-8" of lake effect the southtowns will get tonight is going to be way too fluffy because of the temps in the teens to do much with at all.
I’m standing by my mid-January prediction for any WNY trails to be open again.

The only good news is with so little snow and the really cold temps this week we should be able to freeze the ground good and deep.
Parts of Wayne County and Northern Cayuga are under warning for 8-12 inches by Weds. The Sodus area is an hour and a half drive versus almost 3 hours to Tug Hill for you guys.
This is the area that will probably get hit. I’ve ridden Lakeshore, Sterling, Poor Folks. Good riding, lot different than what you guys might be used to. Lots of riding through fruit orchards up by the lake. I know of a good drop off point for the Lakeshore trails if you guys are interested.
8-12? Did that Warning come up recently? When I checked this morning I didn’t see anything.
Sodus is closer to 2 hours from Buffalo(unless you’re right near exit 50). I’ll be out there this weekend, but not on a sled.
It was down to the grass just about everywhere out there this weekend, a ton of water coating the ice on the bay. It looked like a fewpeople had ventured out on the ice Saturday.
I really hope the ground freezes, it sucks on the wheelers and sleds. I put 35 miles on yesterday.

Yeah, I found that after I posted. I hope that doesn’t fuck up the ice formation too much. Good for you guys, bad for me.
Great info. I added a link to Lakeshore Snow Devils to the first post under a new heading called “Non WNY Clubs”.
I haven’t even registered mine yet.
