Still haven’t been out yet. Between mine and my brothers schedule its hard for us both to be free. We are hopefully going to get out thursday. Figure give the groomers a day to set things up.
Anyone know a spot to drop a trailer toward the Pembroke end of Genesee Sno Packers trails? Or an nyspeeder who lives on along those trails that would let us drop there?
What time? Trial is in my back yard I’ll be home at 1030 am. Or drop at the log cabin. Feel free to shoot me a text 585 721 7092

Wouldn’t be till later, or maybe not till Friday night. My wife’s work was closed yesterday so not sure what time she’ll get home tonight. Can’t exactly leave a 6 year old home alone to take off snowmobiling.
What’s this “log cabin” you speak of?
Honestly Jay, I know the season is really short and we all want to get out as much as we can but it doesn’t sound like the fields are in good condition from what I saw on FB.
If it’s anything like my Caledonia and Stafford experience it’s going to suck minus the parts of the trail that are in the woods.
Your welcome to drop anytime, I just haven’t plowed the driveway all the way. Log cabin is on the trail.
Also I’m pretty sure bucks will let you drop in the back of the lot
Can you tow me around in this?
Yeah, I’m thinking sticking around here now will be better. Hamburg is reporting 22", and Colden said their base held up through last weekend’s rain so anything they got will be piled on top of that.
Thanks for the offer. If people drop at the cabin though it’s easier to drop there and stay out of your way. If we head out that way I’ll let you know but I think I’m leaning toward chestnut ridge now.
Sounds good. It’s wing night at Jims salon if you do head this way.

Probably for the best.
I just saw that it’s supposed to be 55 and rainy on Saturday. Ugh.
Yep, that’s why were really pushing to get out tonight. Tomorrow is my ski night with the kid and I’m keeping Friday as my fallback.
Looks like we’re going to drop in Chestnut ridge and just do a loop of Hamburg’s trails heading over toward Lake Erie. It’s not a huge loop so if we get back to the trailer too early and still want to ride we’ll head over into Colden.
Colden/Boston got about another 2inches of snow, they are not planning on grooming, trails were pretty beat when I road Boston-Springville-Holland-Colden-Boston Sunday. The woods were down to mud in a few spots but hopefully its frozen now. I’m probably going to head out Friday night before the warm up
Boston just re-opened but said the south end of their trails are bad. Staying up near the Hamburg end though you get into the lake effect and it’s better. At least with Boston open we can expand our loop a bit if things are going well.
Went out last Saturday with my buddy Tim. Started in Pendleton area and worked our way NW through the trails…went through the escarpment and ended up at Country Roadhouse Inn by the corner of 104 and 429 (closed, though). I rode the F7 in the far rear (wow shit my pants fast) and my buddy rode the green Cat in the front (2010ish model 500cc). The yellow SkiDoo is his brother’s, currently down for some service. First time snowmobiling on real, groomed trails and oh boy what a blast. We could have used another 6” of snow to make things a bit more comfortable, but all in all a great day.
That’s one of the only times you’ll see an Arctic Cat behind a Ski Doo. You said his Ski Doo is down for service?..strange. Sounds like you had a good time. Never had a chance to ride trails in the north towns. Looks like a lot of flat long runs from the ones I’ve seen from road crossings. Is that true?
I live right on the powerlines and towards Springville is all rocks grr and going up Omphalius is all mud and ice (havent studded my track yet, I have them just haven’t done it) let me know how your ride is tonight and the loop you take
Heh, my buddy swears up and down that Arctic Cat is the best, but I’m sure that this is just like a Ford/Chevy/Dodge thing…everyone loves their favorite brand for a reason. SkiDoo was having ignition problems, I think they had narrowed it down to a CDI. Couldn’t tell you any more than that. I have ridden his Cats (and loved them); only other experience I have is with a mid 90s Polaris Indy 500 and that thing was pretty fun for a beat up neglected old sled.
Besides the escarpment there wasn’t a ton of elevation changes, which is fine by me being a novice rider. Long huge straights to open it up, with some sharp 90s and hairpins connecting fields. There were also a fair amount of long fast sweepers which are a lot of fun when you’re trying to keep both skis on the ground.
Just bustin balls. I talk up what I own at the time. Makes for some fun.
I rode all afternoon on the Pendleton trails on Saturday. How did you get up to the Escarpment? The Polaris app said there was a loop by NCCC, so I went there to find it but couldn’t once we hit Townline.
I rode about 3 miles. Friends thought they could make it under the thruway tunnel. They where wrong. Sank two sleds, had to ride someone back to get the wheeler with the winch on it.

I plan on riding to Colden Lakes from Jamison Rd area in EA tonight. Anyone been through those areas yet?
