Looks like I’m going to go ride Grand Island tonight. Going to finish helping John put that rear spring in then go ride around the GI loop to make sure our sleds hold together before a longer ride tomorrow. We’ve always joked about wanting to ride “The Fish Bowl” and now that he bought a house over there knew this would be the year.
Anyone ever ridden there? Is it any good at all?
Heading from Eden VFW to Schunks and back tonight. Taking the kids for a two up run.
Left Schunks and ended up going back through North Collins and such. Lotsa snow and only a few bumpys. 8.5/10.
Did two laps of Grand Island last night and both sleds are good. Heading out from Clarence Center at 10am today, probably going to head east and up to Alabama swamps since most years we’re stuck chasing lake effect in the southtowns instead of this glorious general snowfall. Maybe head up into Orleans county.
Did 158 miles yesterday from Pendleton to Portville (near Bradford PA, ny/pa border) from there to Salamanca to catch the night show at Snocross. 265 miles on the weekend tomorrow is gonna be a nice long rest day I am whooped the riding has been unreal this year. I am just over 1000 miles on the season and hoping to break 2k as I hit 1700 last year. Not too bad for a ski doo. Bought it last year with 3200 and will hit 6000 next ride out.
Danger, Studderin and a couple other people did 137 miles yesterday. Dropped at Carey Lake in Webster and rode out to watch the ice drags on little Sodus bay in Fairhaven. Some unreal fast turbo 4 stroke stuff. Rode across Sodus bay (the bigger one) on the way back, everything was pretty whooped after that. Wayne county needs more snow.
Did 120 miles last night from Clarence Hollow to North Java. Dinner at The Flipside in Strykersville. Best conditions I’ve seen in WNY since I started riding. After 120 miles I felt like I could have done 500 miles. Smooth, smooth, smooth, with little bits of snow drifts blowing across the trails just to make it fun to float the sled from time to time.
Finally finally got my first sled! 2004 red 500ss with only 4,400 miles. In two days of riding put about 150 on already and I’m kicking myself for not buying one earlier. I have had a blast so far and the sled has just enough power for me to control. I don’t know how you guys ride those 800+ on the trails. First day went from Clarence to pembroke then last night started at Kens and went to strykersville then it ended up get pretty snowy out and missed a turn and landed into a 7 ft snowbank of fresh snow which took a few mins to get out of. Conditions were extremely good , only a few rough spots but man what a blast! My body is killing me but hopefully riding Tomm!
Welcome to the sport. Ride safe and enjoy. You’ll be looking to go bigger before you know it.
I’m on a 04 500ss right now and absolutely love it…not the fastest sled but weight to power and riding stance makes it absolute blast to ride. I’m thinking of an 800 xrs for next yr but night keep this one too. Definitely an awesome sport for this area especially when we have winters like this.
I was out riding the same trails last night. Rode from Three rod in alden out to Kodiak Jacks by Marilla, trails we just perfect.
Enjoy!!
playing around in British Columbia
Buddy is supposed to be here in 30 mins. Starting in Clarence and heading to Bliss. If things are good probably going to continue on to Letchworth. If anyone wants to tag along hit me up via PM.
You got stones brother. I haven’t seen my nuts for days.
Can you guys tell mother nature to fuck off?
You’ve had your fun, now it’s time for burning rubber.
Suck it Miata fag.
Lol, yea I’m passing on riding today. Rode all weekend and both nights, it was cold but not horrible.
Already 900 miles on the season, let it rest for today.
Hey, I could easily attach skis to me car and ride the trails
True. You car and a sled weigh almost da same.
