2014/2015 Snowmobile Season Thread

@Norb O Shawnee is closed as of 8am “trying to preserve the base”---- There is not much base to preserve. Yes it is that bad and I am usually one to ride any conditions, as long as there is snow. Muddy corners and water holes are where I draw the line though.

Clarence/Akron was BAD Wednesday night, looked like they had less snow than other places. Stay in the southtowns that stay open you will have a better time.

@Norb_O NESS trails are closing at noon and everything else is already closed as of this morning

looks like youll have to wait to go out if it ever snows again

I made it out once this year for a quick 60 miles, was a short trip because im not registered so I just wanted to try out the new sled I bought, was itching to ride the past 2 days but im not pushing my luck and trying to get a ticket lol and im not registering for a 2 day season. there’s always next year

How is it in the southern tier? Rode from Colden to Holland Tuesday and despite being not groomed it was actually pretty good, lots of snow.

Sheriffs stopped us a couple times Tuesday East of Colden to check reg stickers, I don’t blame you for not getting your sticker though

yea I hate to be that guy that’s riding un registered, I honestly HATE when people do that, they take money from the clubs that support the trails we ride on by not joining one and registering there sled, so one little shakedown run for me was enough lol, I just put a set of the fox evol float 3’s on my sled, an ice ripper track, and new bars and risers so I just wanted to get it dialed in this year atleast

I rode about 5 miles this year around the house on my summer restoration project.

'71 A.C. lynx, 292 one lunger with puma big mouth hood. came with an extra '71 puma chassis. It’s as loud as my CFR right now, has an expansion pipe and no silencer. Need to fab up something to quiet it down. I’ll probably extend the bulkhead out the sides of the belly pan to widen the ski stance too while I have the welder out.
